Mark Zoltak That’s cool ... I’ve always been both a New Order and Vulgar Boatmen fan and I’ve always thought I could hear the influence. My friends thought I was nuts. But I can hear it in the continuous vamping, droning guitar parts as well as the frenetic bass being played like a lead guitar part. I used to see them 2-3 times a year between 1984-1989 in Gainesville - sometimes in bars or musical venues, sometimes at English or philosophy department parties.. One my friends was their drummer during that period of time. He also played with Bo Diddly who used to live in gville and would play in used car lots. Good times. I danced my ass off listening to them with a slew of folks, including bill from Hyde and Zeeks record store.
