Omar it competes with the A7 100% every other car review that has mentioned the A5 is off. I test drove 5 cars last weekend. I boiled down my choices to either a BMW 330xi and the Arteon (2020). Even though the 330xi had a better interior experience, I picked the Arteon. For the same money, the driving experience is about the same, and the Arteon comes with more features for the same price.
@Brazillianboi696 ай бұрын
Which features
@Raven166915 жыл бұрын
The Arteon is based on the European Passat B8, so I guess you now finally get the kind of "Passat" that Europe already has since 2014. The interior is pretty much the same when you compare the Arteon to a Passat B8 HighLine or R-Line.
@iamfrankstallone5 жыл бұрын

I own both a KIA (Sorento) and a VW (GTI). I love them both so there's no brand bias here in a choice between the Arteon and the Stinger. I've driven both vehicles and if I were choosing between the turbo4 engines in each, I'd opt for the Arteon without question. Comparing the Arteon to the higher spec 3.3L V6 in the Stinger and the choice is more difficult. I think Mr. Biermann and his colleagues at Hyundai/KIA have done a remarkable job of building an American-ized version of a European GT sedan at a reasonable price. But I think the differences between the Stinger and the Arteon highlight the different perspectives of Americans (both north and south of the Canadian border) and Europeans in terms of what "performance" means. There's a reason that Americans invented drag racing while Europeans invented rallies. Road racing in America often means circling high banked ovals in stadiums while Europeans think of road racing on public roads or tracks designed to emulate them. For Americans "performance" often begins and ends with straight line acceleration to 60 mph and quarter mile times. For Europeans "performance" in a GT sedan often means traveling in comfort at 100 mph+ on superbly maintained highways or threading roads often laid down originally by the Romans two millennia ago. VW has a history of trying to interest Americans in the Euro-spec vehicles with almost no success. Americans want larger, cheaper VW's than Europeans. The Arteon represents still another effort along that line. (One exception for the Arteon. The North American version uses a conventional 8 speed transmission while the Euro version has a DCT.) I have no doubt that more Americans will choose the Stinger over the VW. But for those who value a true European GT driving experience with accommodations for four the Arteon outpoints the Stinger.

I agree with most of what you said but this car miserably fails the sales even in Europe. This is unlike Golf R a big car for 4motion to handle. If they threw the same awd in Toureg could be amazing but yeah thats basically stepping on Audi’s toes. And the haldex based 4wds suck so bad. Its no brainer why people go for stinger in USA. So I'm planning on tuning mine as well, I just crossed the 40,000 mile marker but you have to watch the transmission because it's an 8-speed aisin not the dsg thats ok with more power. so it can't take any more than 330 ft lb of torque (at least that's what the manual for it said when I read it) and I know the APR stage one tune (and a ton of others) goes well above that... Just something to look out for....I found ABT will tune it right before the limit of the transmission so thats what Im gunna get.... VW and Audi of America almost always water down what gets sent to the US; they seem to think North Americans are dumb, lazy idiots who just want cupholders and automatics mostly. VW and Audi of America management should be cleaned out and started over again, it's been a problem for decades.
@SavasMD5 жыл бұрын
TheStraightPipes no cause the dsg is so unreliable! North America is not their strongest market so, they are trying to increase their marketshare by giving you guys more reliable tech. Friend of mine owns dsg golf, after the warranty ends he is thinking about selling it.

I customize the drive modes of my new Mercedes A 220. The throttle response feels great in comfort mode. The steering feels a little bit heavier in sport. It doesn't make that big of a difference after all because it's not a sports car. But I still like to customize it just to make it feel a bit more personal.
@iamfrankstallone5 жыл бұрын
Arteon all the way. Probably stage 1 tune it right away with all the savings from the difference between the A7, to bring it to or above Kia stinger butt specs. I'm a car shaped cat lover, wagons for life. I'm with you. If sportbacks keep the sedans alive, I'm okay with that world.

@stephenhendricks1035 жыл бұрын
@@chocolatewheelchair The "void the warranty" comment is made often but it represents a misunderstanding of reality. In fact, the warranty is voided only if a modification can be shown to directly result in a component failure. That won't necessarily result in a fix under warranty but numerous court cases support that interpretation. Furthermore, many VW dealers (including mine) actually offer tuning services and honor warranty claims without question. Finally, tuning companies such as APR offer low cost warranties that mimic the full factory warranty protection.

The custom mode allows you to put the steering in sport mode and ride in the comfort mode.

Custom settings? I like to put everything into sport except the "bounce" level of the suspension if you can or leave the suspension at comfort or normal. Makes the steering a bit heavier, performance better, body roll, etc, while still not feeling like your kidneys will fall out on the ice heaves and potholes.

Wow, finally! You guys have been sitting on this one for ages! FYI ... it is the Golf R engine, and in Australia we get all the power, and a DSG so... it's way quicker than that lazy 8spd nonsense. Shame you got the smaller infotainment screen with scrolls as well, where ours is all touch and senses your hands approaching and shit. But we only get black interior... Regardless, glad you got to enjoy it. It'll probably be the upgrade to my VR6 CC, soon. Keep up the great work.

The Predecessor of the Arteon is the discontinued Passat CC,i would get a 2013 Passat CC,becuse in that year it got facelifted and looked awesome,and you could get it with a 3.6L V6 with 300hp that sounds AWESOME even when stock.And you could get Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Cruise in that year too,so its not much behind on tech either.
