When the battery gets all the way down this scooter shows that it has extra in reserve. VMAX has really shown that they know exactly what they're doing with this baby, EXCEPT for that folding latch. A caribiner through it will solve that issue apparently. Otherwise, it's a solid ride. Great review!!!

Such a good scooter but agree that folding latch needs a rethink definitely not the most secure, functional or aesthetically pleasing, I think the Niu scooters are the best for this. Also think a rocker switch for left/right turn signals like on the Segway gmax2 and others works better. Other than that fantastic scooter and great you have different battery/range sizes to choose from!

What is the battery life like? How long does charging take and how much do you get on a full charge?

Has anyone else had electrical problems on the VX4? I bought this scooter in July but had to send it back twice. The first time, the display froze on "Error 22" (something about the throttle), and the headlight wouldn'tturn on. The second time, the display froze on the main screen; I was unable to switch from "eco" to "sport," and the blinkers wouldn't work. Still waiting for the second return. The short time that I was able to ride was great though....

Can you McGyver a better DIY latch? Velcro a strap maybe? I'd be walking up 3 flights of stairs.

VMAX let me know they're working on an improved latch solution 😁

Looks remarkably similar to Rictor, Kuickwheel and Caroma. One company under different names?

Great question. At VMAX we have our own manufacturing facility and design everything in house, this scooter is not available under other brand names.

@@vmax_escooter please lower the position of the thumb throttle, for a better (full fist) grip. Half twist throttles still offer the best full fist grip imo.
@MicromobilityIndustries8 ай бұрын
@Trottinet-work Have you ridden the VX4? Just curious, I felt like the throttle was at a good angle. I actually prefer thumb to twist, I feel like half-grip twist throttles compromise my grip more. Personal preference I suppose 🤷 Regarding your comment on similar products: I am not familiar with those three brands, but I did some looking at Rictor. I could spot quite a few differences with components and overall design, their warranty isn't nearly as good either. I'd have to test ride those other brands to really be able to comment... but I will say that there's lots of copycats out there, and my bet is on other brands copying what VMAX is doing.

For $1400 the VX4 brakes suck.... they missed the mark when they opt'd for drum up front , scooter does nothing but lock up the rear, and making effective stopping under panic vitually impossible.. I've contacted them and all they said is they find it adequate, and the brakes has to be adjusted according to rider weight?? umm? ok? thought you just squeeze harder for more brake effect. the front brake has no bite as if they're contaminated.... it feels the same no matter how hard you pull on the brake lever.. If I would of known this prior then I would of just went with another A[pollo... Also Vmax has horrible customer service similar to how car dealerships work... after sale service/support non existent
@MicromobilityIndustries25 күн бұрын
As they told you, you need to adjust the front brake :) You can tighten the cable down on the brake itself to increase stopping power.
