How did this look on TV, guys? From there it was a tad confusing at first but after things got going, it became clear the race was decided before turn 1. Not a horrible idea, could use some tweaks in execution, imo. Still prefer the old "full speed" 3 lap single car All Star qualifying.
@primeblakes2 жыл бұрын
I definitely agree with what you said. The racing was decided so soon that it wasn’t really a race at all, I thought that they would line them up at the start finish line and do the 3 lap qualifying but with 2 cars when I first heard about it so I was really excited. When it was this I was pretty bummed out
@primeblakes2 жыл бұрын
Hopefully you are at the race today as well since I will also be in attendance. I have always wanted to try my hand at iRacing and now finally have a pc that can run it. I was hoping if you could give some advice on wheels
@speedhunter71562 жыл бұрын
Looked a bit better but not much better I mean it was hilarious with people stalling on the line but what if they did this instead used the full pit lane as the drag strip instead charging in full speed to a stop then the race isn't only in the pit crews hands
@NikolaiPCulp2 жыл бұрын
I was there but feel like it would be been more epic if they did it on pit entrance and did a true drag race down the pits into turn 1
@rollingthunder83782 жыл бұрын
I think they should do the full speed thing with a bracket style but because if safety it would be one car at a time but the fastest from each round advance. If we were to do it head to head like this I think ours would have to have a limit of around 100. I see a lot of iRacing hosted races doing this somehow
@Dat-Mudkip2 жыл бұрын
If they do this again, they should reduce the track length (maybe start at pitroad entrance, finish at pit exit, with the pit boxes at the start finish), and they should also use an actual Christmas tree.

Should run at least 2 laps to give a chance to the other driver. I think if there was a 2nd lap, Kurt would have completed the pass for the win!

They should of announced the rules there at the track. When I went to Phoenix that was one thing they lacked was giving fans a heads up about what’s going on.

@richardlong60972 жыл бұрын
They should have started in the pit box, use the tree and run one lap then come in for a stop at pit road speed, then run another lap. The format used give no chance for a driver to make up time. Whoever got dropped first was gone. If the stop was after a lap, a driver could make up time by getting down to pit road speed better or stopping in the box better.

While this is different, it is not a new thing. Years ago NASCAR used to do this nearly he same way, one lap of the track, complete 4 tire pit stop than an exit lap with the end being at the start finish line.
@eoll63222 жыл бұрын
Yep the kicker was that they turned off the track coming out of the turn, came down pit road at really high speed and had to hit their pit box without over shooting it. That was awesome! This format is interesting too

This format needs help....Not a single pass on the track was made.... Why not line the cars up based on points position...Pit selection will be in the order of points, if your 1st you get first selection so on so forth....Run 25 laps with a 4 tire pit stop before lap 23....Caution laps do not count....Only top 15 move in to a chance for the mill, and don't have to race in the open.......The other 20 plus cars race in the open, with same format.........with top 5 moving on, and then of course you have a fan vote.....So a total of 21 cars to start with a chance at the mill...Then 3- 30 lap shootouts with one pit stop under green 4 tire change, before lap 28 in each, caution laps do not count, and each team can choose to pit or not during the caution flags...Each have last 5 places being knocked out.....So 21 to 16 to 11 Racing for the mill.......

Smartass comment: shoulda had the tire carriers hop through tires like an obstacle course. Constructive comment: would have loved to see them do an 1/8 mile drag down pit road, stop in the box, change 4 tires, then race to complete the lap.
