With so many of the same cars used for racing, it is quite refreshing to see a completely original build like this.😎👍

What's so remarkable about Steve's engineering expertise, is his Total Recall! To know exactly what has occurred, how and why! And how to unlearn an error by practice! His ride is "The Mother of All Station Wagons". Perhaps he'll install air-conditioning! After sharing duties with Tom Bailey's "Sick Seconds" car. Thier Summer Drag Week Marathon!

Car is beautiful. And I really respect your honestly in all your videos, while you show the troubles and mistakes you make along the way. Could have very well said "Been 9 years since last seat time, off the trailer it went 1.03 and the battery died in the GoPro" and no one would have questioned it. You are in the top 10 of my favorite youtubers because you are, atleast here on youtube, humble AF.

Good to see you describing the challenges in shaking down a new build. Seeing a car progress beyond the early niggles helps to appreciate it when it all comes together and starts running times closer to its full capability.

I love it when someone does something out of the box, I live in Australia and my brother did the same thing using something you’d never see at the strip, gets so much attention, love the wagon, not so much the wood paneling paint, wicked ride man!

That's cool as hell Steve. When I saw the woodgrain details on the engine I had a feeling it might be a station wagon. I had a 1974 Pontiac Parisienne as one of my cars for a while and I always said it would be hilarious to make it into a drag car. So this is a super fun project to see built to such a badass level. Can't wait to see it during the competition.

Use some digital outputs on the computer to light up a red light if it's in burnout mode, or a green light for race mode. The specifics don't matter, but then the car well tell you what mode it's in. You don't need to be worried about remembering the mode, you need to be focused on your launch. Car is awesome.

I was *thinking* that the wagon was going to be the home for the "wood" SMX... I visited SME back in July of 2020 and remember seeing the wagon in the shop at that time, and having Steve tell me it was a future project. Nice to see it put together!
