Garmins have alwats been high price and way better than the average smart watches... Definately value for your money you cant compare this to any smart watch to me Huaei Watch Ultimate falls in 2nd place especially when it comes to battery and alll round functionality...Apple is way way down tgere especially with their battery life its pathetic... Anyone knows much about the "Sunto"... All in all Garmin is a watch for people that are really really serious with their health and physique.. This is not a watch for showing off etc.. Its actually for people that work out and want to get acurate results.. Simple

Sorry Garmin but not enough for that price. I have a 7S Saphire Solar and the price of this watch combined with the battery life for the small size means that this will be sticking with what I have for the foreseeable future.

Higher price. No cellular. For those that do not dive, incremental hardware update. It's a struggle to find a solid rationale to update from the last generation (or even one before) watches. Very Apple.

I have had a Garnin Fenix Since the 3X 51mm. Why in the world would Garmin require so many button presses to make a call or use the phone's assistant? We have been waiting for cellular capability for years and this is the best they could come up with? And raising the price to astronomical levels?

I love my Fenix 7x Sapphire Solar, and I was following the rumors of this watch for quite a few months now hoping to get something as awesome sounding as the Fenix 8 Solar. But at $1600CAD, I think I'll pass. That is an outrageous price for what it is. My 7x will last me for years yet. Heck, I wore my 5x for 4 years and it didn't seem to have any battery issues or any problems at all minus a few scratches on the case.

Please correct the bugs in the Fenix8.. Screen brightness in low light conditions makes my Fenix8 51 Amoled completely UNUSABLE!!! Also the watch lags even in the watch face menu.. it’s a horrible experience, never had these issues with my Fenix7X or my EPIXPRO 51!!

Thank you for your comment. There are 2 ways to turn the flashlight on/off: 1) You can press and hold the top left button, then scroll to the flashlight icon using the up/down buttons and press the top right button to toggle on/off. 2) The easier way is to double-tap the top left button to turn the flashlight on, then adjust brightness using the touchscreen. Double-tap the top left button again to turn off. I hope this helps. -KB

Whether a watch is worth its price is not only a question of features but also service of the nanufacturer. Before spending that much money on an outdoor watch always remember that Garmin makes you buy a refurbished model at a hefty price instead of repairing your watch whenever something is broken - totally unacceptable.

I have the Fenix 7 pro solar Sapphire and I'm in sunny Arizona and can't tell one bit the solar charging. Is the new charger more effective? I should hope it at a minimum stays level or optimally goes up in battery 🤷‍♂️

NO TRADE IN??? We're in the midst of historical INFLATION! This is ENTIRELY too much, you really need to offer trade in options to knock off like $500-$400. In the meantime; I think I'll wait for a few years to see prices come down, buy a like-new off marketplace, or, maybe one from Garmin if you offer trade in's or drop price. Great intro vid. I am thinking of placing an order for the Fenix 8 AMOLED this week. This being my first Garmin watch, but a long time user of Garmin hiking GPS units, I am curious if the maps I have bought for my Montana 750i will work with this watch? 2 years ago I bought a download of TOPO US 24K Southeast and used Garmin Connect (or Express...) to upload to my Montana. Can anyone confirm I can do the same and that this will be of higher detail than what is preloaded in the Fenix 8? Thanks for any feedback!

No one, not a single reviewer talk about the fact than garmin cheapskate on the rear cover of their flagship watch. The garmin fenix 8 titanium no longer have a rear cover in titanium, now in simple metal !!! The patina on the titanium rear cover was so satisfaying. Its like garmin is loosing the rugged watch to be a regular smarthwatch apple contester. its sad !

That ecosystem led me to a PR in the half marathon on my 15th half via suggested workouts at 52 years of age, so yeah, I’m a believer. And sure, there are many cheaper watches (even by Garmin) that do a lot of the same features (ie. the Forerunner 265)… but they certainly aren’t as premium (sapphire glass or titanium bezel) or feature rich. Many fitness trackers for more basic features even charge a monthly subscription- Ouraring, Whoop etc… heck, even Strava charges for advance memberships that have similar info to Garmin.

Try that comparison with the decent mk3 this is a general purpose watch not a dive watch not to mention 95% of people won’t dive below 40 meters because of the decompression risk and most technical divers ie below 40 meters have an addition or different dive computer
