When we went a few years ago before lockdown a local chap gave us a bit of a tour round very nice must go again as it’s not far away 👍

Hayup Gareth it looks like some of the windows have been tastefully filled in with blocks from perhaps another chimney? Or buildings. a ruler one of them fold out wooden jobs (Boxwood by Rabone made in England No1167 ) might provide further assistance in dissecting what's gone on there, we used different divisions of measurement at various time periods, whitworth brought in some standardisation but just prior to that iron works where all varied an blacksmith made "apparently" so the corespondent masonry holes measured to suit. Although we had remnants of ancient steam powered threshing machines on our farm an they where held in place with fine threaded but very old looking metric studs so there's plenty of anomalies in the old world may have been fitted by Italian,s as they're metric but in Derbyshire in the 1800s? I know nothing. Them new forest auxiliary hide outs are all the go at the moment but I'll endeavour to provide you with some good leads an foundation of study that assists, I've been down here for thirty plus years I've heard the odd tall tale in yeolde country pub that later turned out to be true so you never know, Secret bunkers.who knows ehh.. If there's any potteries connected to that area as in fine bone china? They tend to keep good records, sometimes. I see Swanage Railways is in need of publicity an strategy towards fundraising. @@IckeWalks deffo Gaz, the fence was there when I went, but I went in over the wall, I wasn’t gonna miss out on that place. I also feel like there is more to the place than the official narrative as well.
