Hey there, New friend here. We are a family of 5 from Texas. We have moved aboard a trawler and love boat life. It's awesome watching others living the same dream. We have learned so much from KZbin. Thank you for sharing. ~ Chris & Jolene

Nice to meet you! Yeah, it's a pretty great life. Not without it's challenges, but so far it's been worth it. Thanks for watching and best of luck in your boat adventure!

Nice Hookah rig! I'm jealous! I paid for all my toys on the boat cleaning 2-5 boats a week during the season. I used a rig I put together using an oil free compressor and a replacement hookah hose I bought online. Added a regulator I bought used. Made allot of money with it but still like what you have. I was on a dock with power usually but I have cleaned boats using my Honda generator to run the compressor. While I still have all the tools, I think my retirement from the workforce includes retiring from diving on boats. Just not feeling it anymore! My own boat bottom is all I want to see underwater these days! Great video! Love watching you guys!

Yeah it definitely helps, but it's still a lot of work! Don't think I'd be up for any more than just ours either. Sounds like a pretty efficient rig you put together though! Thanks for watching and talk to you soon!

Pretty neat video I enjoyed the ruins of the manner in the remains I guess of the resort it’s nice to walk back into history like that

Thanks! Yeah, I love that stuff. Traveling as a kid, we never passed up a fort or anything historical really.

I had a Brownies gas hookah for years. It worked flawless. However, it was really bulky. I dont have room for the gas model so I sold it. I'm in the market for a 12v model now. having a hookah is really a great idea . They actually will pay for themselves not having to pay a diver to clean the hull.

Yep that's exactly what we were thinking. I believe ours is called a Breathrite and for $300 there was no passing it up.

Are you still anchored off St. Thomas? I heard they were having a trash problem with all the boats. Also some chatter on the internet about cruising boats being expelled from ports on the very verge of hurricane season. Hope you enjoying a very safe escape from the Coronavirus. Hope to see you out sailing soon. Take care. Sue and Glenn.

Yes! We're currently at Magen's Bay, but have been kinda moving around the islands. We've heard the same chatter, but most of it is way overblown and some of it straight up invented. We've seen absolutely no one kicked out of anywhere unless they're breaking the normal rules of an anchorage. There's also some hubbub about "regulated" trash, but we haven't seen any firsthand issues with that either. I do know they did water testing at all the major beaches and anchorages and they all came back cleaner than usual. Thanks very much for the well wishes! We're very glad we came here...couldn't really do better for a lockdown location. :-)

You can find used PADI instruction books pretty easily... better yet take a class. But rule one don't hold your breath.

Lol, yeah I broke that tendency pretty quick. We both plan to get certified in the very near future. Bobbing around about 3-4' under the boat for maintenance is pretty much my limit without some training.

I like that hookah set-up. I've been contemplating such a purchase for awhile. Where did you get yours?
@SailAwayVlog4 жыл бұрын
We got it used from someone who was selling their boat and everything on it. Got it for $300 which is crazy. It's a Breathrite, which goes for about $1400 new I think.
@DowneastThunderCreations4 жыл бұрын
@@SailAwayVlog Thanks. I guess you did score a great deal! $1400.00 is a bit rich for my blood (now that I'm retired). I guess I'll just have to keep an eye out for someone selling theirs at a price I can afford.

You may not be a diver but in 12 ft of open water as long as you can swim not much chance of drowning
@SailAwayVlog4 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's what I figure. We plan to get certified to do actual dives, but just for boat maintenance I'm not too worried. Thanks for watching as always!
@Bonedock82284 жыл бұрын
get certified dude
@SailAwayVlog4 жыл бұрын
Definitely plan to once we decide we want to truly do some diving. Not much knowledge required to hover 3' under doing boat maintenance though Lol.
