@hyperion447 Nah I would definitely say the Saviors are a bit more nuanced than that. Outside of Simon who was truly the only thug like the rest either happened to be really good at what they do or got on Negan’s good side. Dwight went from some random dude in The Sanctuary who got his wife taken away, half his face burnt, and then being in the same position as Daryl to being Negan’s 2nd after Simon passing Regina and Gavin. All in all they likely a really good at doing what they do, getting results and following Negan’s Moto. “The Rules is what keeps us alive” Simon was truly the only thug like one who was essentially a toned down Trevor from GTA in the apocalypse. And it’s implied Negan new this side of him but kept him because he followed and respected Negan’s “Rules” philosophy. Personally have a head cannon that he was full on Trevor in The Sanctuary before Negan came. This is even why Rick wanted the deal in the first place knowing that it ended and started with Negan. Simon probably only retaliated because he wanted power and he was probably piste at this point (understandable so) with how many times this group has killed their men for them to essentially get a tap on the hand (killing one person) We have to remember that they killed all his men in the Outpost like twice and had when seen it from their perspective this would make anyone upset. Funny how from a Savior standpoint Simon’s plan to kill everyone in Alexandria which would then force the other two groups to comply since Rick was the head was a “bad idea” when ironically this was originally Comic Negan’s plan at one point.

@@zolod.uchiha5102 i havent finished season 8 so i might not know everything but what i thought was that the saviour's common soldiers were mostly just people who were probably not anywhere near experienced as ricks people or other survivors because they just stole resources from people through intimidation with their overwhelming numbers and generally never had to struggle to fight for their survival and most are also probably not very loyal to the saviours as the comment above said when the time to fight the people theyve been threatening to fight with came they didnt try much at all to defend their place and weve seen that most of them surrendered pretty quickly as soon as they realised the odds were against them

Have to drag the story out of course. It’s always done in a bad way when the writers have to save a character in dangerous moments. Especially bad here since the specific weapon rick is using is known for being one of the easiest automatic combat weapons to control and aim with. However, there is Rick’s infamous method of holding his revolver so maybe he’s canonically not a great marksman😂

I hate how the show sets up this scene as if Rick couldn't just kill Negan here with little to no resistance. If it's not going to happen (obviously) why even set this scenario? Then they just proceed to waste hundreds of rounds shooting glass and give Negan *ANOTHER* hostage. If you thought it got dumb there, wait til you notice they never reload. Such a face palm scene. Dont even get me started on the walkers somehow keeping close behind Daryl on his bike. Honestly most of this show past season 5 is just garbage. I wanted to like this show but the writers and producers just think that their audience are morons.
