This is determinant, but Violet can literally willingly surrender her leadership and pass it onto Clem. Nothing about that act says "liability," nor did Clem give any clue that she felt like that about the kids. They all loved her, and she sacrificed an arm and (literally) a leg to ensure their safety. They were a family. So to see her just run off like this is so out of character for her, to the point where I don't want to consider this story canon. Cause even if she felt insecure about herself, Clem would absolutely not abandon AJ the way she did in this comic, not after she's done so much to find and protect him throughout the majority of his life.

I think this comic book shows us very clearly how video games are much more modern than comic books. It is much easier to express the plot and feelings in a visually programmed context. As for "Clementine Book One", I expected much worse honestly. I liked showing flashbacks with Lee and AJ as key events that influenced Clem a lot. My guess as to why Clementine left AJ is that she thinks she no longer believes in herself that she can keep him without a leg and maybe even thinks AJ is mature enough to be able to survive on his own which is somewhat true, but AJ always had the will to live because Clem was always by his side, guarding his back. Now all that past seems to be for her. Also, Clem has always been afraid of losing him because of a lost leg. So she probably cowardly tried to escape from all those nightmares. After all, Skybound missed the mark with this and unfortunately made me not care about continuing in the future. Thanks for the stream and saving my money Dom!

People could only read comics that made sense because it was about various cartoons, fantasies, fairy tales and the like. While today, this was obviously made for the money and attention that Skybound lost after many unsuccessful moves. Of course, comics can still be interpreted very well, but as I said. It's all about money and attention. That's why people would rather choose DLC for The Walking Dead than this failure.

@@zzzane_ TWDC was around 2003 and stopped during 2019 so people had contact with each other due to the internet, you just had to search. Comics brought amazing stories because we want to see these characters come out alright, whether its based in reality or not, because comics were just folk tales and old stories reimagined. Most comics were made for money but it was less about politics and agendas and more of a story, Sandman was political at a time were gays weren’t really accepted as they are now, but you can excuse that because the story was amazing and humanized these people instead of making them “gotcha talking points” Comics now are failing because the industry is so saturated with horrible stories, if mainstream comic were still good, then comics wouldn’t be failing behind manga. Skybound’s only bad move was making this a cash grab forced conflict story instead of something simple, this could’ve all been avoided by literally just making a cash grab happy story and people would be happy, it doesn’t matter the media it comes it, it matters to whats IN that media to people.

The medium only impacts the way in which they tell a story, so with comic books vs video games, it's a matter of knowing each of their strengths. There are so many things wrong with this book I don't even know where to start. First off the entire premise alone is awful, BUT if we ignore that and pretend its fine this book felt so rushed! This entire book should've been stretched to 2 maybe even 3 books instead of 1. We'd get to know Amos and Ricca more, more character development, PLUS wed feel more attached after each plot twist/death. If we don't ignore the terrible plot, her reason for leaving is so incredibly dumb as ANYONE who's played all 4 (or even just the last) game. Why would you leave the safety of walls without a threat forcing you to? She literally gives a little speech to AJ in ep 1 after he punches Marlon. Paraphrasing, she basically says "Everything beyond these walls are walkers, do you really wanna go back out there?". Not to mention even IF something made the group leave the school and there were casualties, WHY would she leave when they're so vulnerable?? Not to mention the ENTIRE reason Erickson is so special is because its kids helping each other through tough times. Vi/Louis would me maimed/crippled no matter your choices, yet Tilly is making it sound like EVERYONE would judge clem like shes the only crippled person in the group. And even that makes no sense, as if all the kids would look down upon the girl who saved them from being kidnapped because she got hurt SAVING THEM??? Also, the "romance" with Ricca is so bad. It couldve been okay if it wasn't so damn rushed, at least let them know each other for a book or 2 before they have nicknames for each other😆

Waiting more than a year for another of this book is crazy. A game would be much better. There are going to be big producers willing to make it. There was so much interesting background in Season 4, we known that Lilly's group Delta is fighting a community in the North but it seems like it's more than one community. Abel mentions Richmond. We actually never saw a massive war in the series, like a war that lasts months with moments of truce etc. It'd be a nice idea with that on S5. Even James knew of this war, so this war could have ended hitting Clem and the children again. It'd be nice if they actually aimed to take some three-four years of production for this series, where choices in season 3 matter because Richmond will be there as Abel mentions and choices from season 4 as well with Lilly being in season 5 in case you saved her. Just take some good time so people don't say you're milking the franchise, and make a game as memorable as season 1 which will happen with choices mattering. My biggest problem with the series is that choices matter so little, like it does not matter if you take Arvo's pills or not but if they make a new game fixing this, they would be able to milk the franchise all over again.

This was the most unnecessary thing of 2022, it wasn't as bad as I imagined, but still pretty bad. The whole Ricca romance thing was cringe as fuck. Especially the part where she said "Clementine, baby don't let me die here". The Lee flashbacks in my opinion where just a cheesy way of Tillie showing that she at least played or watched the games and didin't really bring anything to the plot. Clem's reason for leaving was extremely emo, out of character, and overall was just stupid. Amos's death was exectued pretty badly. It was supposed to be this huge plot twist and a shocking moment, but how can a reader care about a goofy ass dude who was sick and non present half the book? The whole cast was uninteresting and I wasn't invested nor did I care about any of them. Also, as someone who draws, I get that artstyles are artstyles and it's not really a thing you should criticise someone for, but when it's to the point where you can't even tell what's going on in some pages, it's bad and should definitely be adressed. Like in this case, in some of the pannels I was lost on what is going on, because they were just implemented so badly. Overall, this book was a massive waste of time for anyone to read. It was a massive waste of time for skybound because I can already tell this thing is gonna do horribly. And it was a massive waste of time for Tillie to make, because she basically spent more than a year writing and drawing one huge disappointment. And don't forget that a 2nd book is already being made and there will be a 3rd one after that. Even if this was it's own thing without Clementine, it still would be just extremely underwhelming and boring. It's not as horrible as some people will make it seem, but it's definitely far from good, or even decent aswell. It's a 3/10 for me, let's just all hope that Tillie and skybound see the backlash and actually make some changes in the future books.

the problem that I see with Willie's story is that he doesn't know how to delve into the history or motivations of his characters. That is to say, try to compact everything at once without giving one time to even get attached to the character. For example, they were featuring Amos as the main co-star and he actually barely gets any screen time. Then they imply that the other twin fell in love with him, but we do not see that connection and many things remain in the air. Sure, it's not that you need an encyclopedia to know the background of a character, but I think she didn't know how to manage her times well. It is as if you went to MacDonalds and you have to settle for what the cashier gives you and that's it, without a chance to see how they prepared the hamburger or if they spit it out in the process. For example, in the last installment we were able to empathize and grow fond of characters like Broody, Marlon and James, while we were able to empathize with Minerva, in just a chapter or 2. I think the idea would have gone much better if Tillie had taken the format of the original comic, well, in some characters to feel an emotional attachment to it, that is, to take her time so that we could appreciate it. I suspected that Amos was going to die from what was seen in the trailer and that they released the cover of book two without even releasing the first one, but the truth is that I was not moved, the death of the horse hurt me more. The romance was the same, I mean, that's what you have. There was no symbolic connection as it was in the case of Violet or Louis, it was all very forced in my opinion. In one of your previous videos you mentioned that she doesn't have drafts or scripts, but rather improvises and that's why we see those gaps in the narrative. The Flashbacks with Lee worked, but AJ's did not, that is, it did not show the amputation or how the boy did to take her back to boarding school

I think it would have been better to produce a graphic series like the original work of TWD, that although Rick's story has some plot holes in certain plots, we were able to connect with him, his allies, enemies and antiheroes. Perhaps it is not very productive to cover Clem's story, which is already traumatic and complex, in just 3 novels with 10 chapters each. If I remember correctly, the main comic had almost 200 episodes.

Do you know the feeling that you get when you finish a game/series you really like and don´t know what to do with your life now? Well I finished season 4 yesterday and immediately searched the internet to find out if any continuation is planned. Even though the ending of the final chapter was a good one and it would have been OK for me if the story really ended there, i was very happy to find out that there will be books which continue the story. I ordered the book 1 right away and surfed a litte more out of curiosity. That´s when I stumbled across this channel and I am glad that i found it. I watched many of the other future of Clem related videos too. After 17 minutes into this video i was like: What is this? WTF is going on here? Clementine wasn´t this depressed when she sat at the firepit with Christa after loosing Lee and Omid. She fought through it, as she teaches AJ "When we get scared, we push through it" and now she does the exact opposite, running from some unexplainable fear, abandoning all her friends (and potential boy- or girlfriend) and especially AJ, which she searched, killed and almost died for. Kenny wouldn´t approve! Clementine´s story is too good to be this cheaply monetized. In my opinion, if this really is what they have in mind for her, they should just stop it and leave us with the ending that we already have. Start another story, maybe pick up some other character that already appeared, or atleast let somebody write the story, who has actually played the game. Clementine shouldn´t be a cashcow. Disney called, they want their Star Wars back. Im probably not the first one to pick on that but why would she tell strangers she has her period, when she hardly told Javier and only because he was noticing her being in pain. This is a general question. Who tells that to somebody they just met. What is this. And why would she reply "mine started as well". Dude. Long story short: I cancelled the order and watched this video. As i said, after 17 minutes i couldn´t bear it anymore and decided that i will accept the original ending and pretend the story ends with AJ placing the hat on that desk. I don´t care for this character because this is not Clementine, insert Tangerine joke here (very funny btw). I really hope the reaction of the community can bring some sense into the people responsible. I hope we can all view this as some sort of fan fiction one day and be happy about the REAL continuation of this beautiful story, or look back at the ending and remind us of the good times. I personally will never accept this. Man i wrote a lot now. I really love the story and it kinda breaks my heart to see what is happening. Lee, Kenny and especially Clementine deserve better. Let´s hope they realize that.

1:32:00 Ok, I agree with her trauma on season 2... NOT fucking season 3 and season 4. Javier's group is decent and they're family, and Javier gives clem a LESSON to always fight for family. Luke even says in season 2 that family is important no matter what. Season 4, Clem found AJ and the school kids are very tight knit, as they fought for each other than against (expect for mullet boy). So yeah, I dont see where Clem believed that groups always fell apart shit.

And she wanted aj to kill her if she got bit and he didn’t so she new he wasn’t strong enough to save him self and she wouldn’t want to be the reason he dies. Not to mention the fact she’s been on the road for so long. It’s like living in a house and then suddenly living in an alleys way. Or your whole life changing in a certain way. I do get your point with certain things like how random it was but with the alternate characters I get why they did it. People have said “not my clementine” but when was it.

I can see how after all that has happened, and all that has changed for Clem, that trauma could push her away from people that she once fought for. I feel fans can be a bit too hard on the book(and also I think it’s a stretch to accuse the author of creeping on clem via self insert) However, I think it would be stronger for the story to have kept Clem in Ericson with the people who she already knows, loves, and trusts

Thank you Dom for taking time out to read this for us 💯🤞🏽, but man I’m very disappointed of how they changed Clementine. It’s obvious they’re trying to continue Clem’s story for cash grabs, which is insulting. Maybe if they started up a new journey (with AJ being the main focus) instead or even other secondary characters, it would have worked.. maybe. But the fact that they felt the need to alter Clem’s story/journey is just appalling. It ended perfectly, why ruin it. Smh. #notmyclementine

Tillies compositions suck. If this was published by marvel comics, in the Jack Kirby days, the editors would tell Tillie to go back to art school. There’s a book published by marvel in 1978 called: how to draw comics the marvel way. Basically everything Tillie has drawn in this comic is what not to do by the book and shows you how to really do it by professional comic artists. Maybe she should read it before she puts out crap like this and expects us to buy it. This was published by IMAGE COMICS. Make your art look cool, not this tumbler/twitter art that passes as “high” art.

Clementine needs to find a purpose and get away from the violence cuz she never could accustom to it which is why she is always moving. Oh boy… Well, will say, the commentary was quite entertaining. xD To give this story _some_ credit, there are concepts and moments that would've been cool to see either fleshed out or outside the context of this. Like way back towards the beginning with the horse getting shot. Of course, before that had been thrown away because…it was there for shock-value. Don't understand why they didn't check to see whether or not the horse was sick. But whatever. So yeah. There's some cool ideas like that, plus Amos as a character I actually didn't mind. I think he would've been a goofy guy to follow. Poor thing. :( But. This book just aggravated the writer side of me. It's so apparent that 1) this was rushed, and needed more time and effort put into actual *drafts,* and 2) that Tillie was not the one for this. For one there's so many instances that just proved that she really didn't play the later games, and if she did, she wasn't paying attention. Like, Clementine absolutely knows that you need to keep wounds clean. Does she know the *best* way? Maybe not. But then again, it's not like you have medical supplies just laying around everywhere. And then the other one which hit a nerve: Clementine can read. She knows how to read. What was that moment?? If anything, knowing how to read is more important on the road because she would've had to search for a) maps to figure out where she is, and b) manuals to learn how to do things on her own. And Clementine is 100% the type of person that would've gotten books for breaks while on the road. Would they have been good books? I dunno. Lol. One of them was definitely a cookbook. xD Ultimately, I don't know why Tillie was chosen, and if this was the case that they saw her awards (which are for non-fiction/non-fiction inspired works) and reached out, I *really* do not understand. Tillie writes contemporary, non-fiction based (elements are lifted from her life, but as far as I'm aware, there's none that are pure autobiographical) stories with her style being focused on *color.* I commend her for branching out because, hey, it's a cool thing, but…no. The pacing in this, the characterization… Everything action-related, thriller-esque was not executed well, and I gotta be honest, I think so much of that has to do with Tillie being out of her element. She is a fish out of water here. So to an extent, I don't blame her for this because Skybound should've been more cognizant as to who they were hiring for this. It's like hiring a baker and expecting them to produce gourmet barbecue. Like no. Why? Why did you do that?? So there's that element. Then there's the biggest thing that has just grated my nerves with this being "canon". Which no. I'm sorry Skybound, but no. Clementine as a character has been established to be one that exists between a variety of interpretations-as in, those interpretations are equally canon because of the nature of the video game. I'm not impressed by Tillie, am sorely disappointed in Skybound, but boy does it light the fire I want to write my own story on AO3. xD It's my summer project, so it's the most fun thing I have going on. Lol. Outside of watching Skybound just…not listen to its audience, but whatever. Lol. This ain't canon. I don't care. I do miss the horse and Amos though.
