They're probably using these new variants of zombies like the black plague was used during the Dark Age where they would throw the bodies of dead people suffering from the affliction over the walls in order to infect everybody inside their enemies stronghold. If they create enough variants that are unknown to the rest of the world, they start using them to conquer the planet, it'd be easier for any party trying to take over the world, they already have the dead army they need.

Always happy to see Dominique Pinion, who also starred in Jeunet and Caro's amazing dark fairytale, City of Lost Children and most of Jeunet's other films like Amelie, Delicatessen, Mic Macs, and Alien Resurrection. One of the finest French actors who always seems to turn up in the strangest of places, but always seems to fit right in, even when tending pigeons during the zombie apocalypse.

I assumed Quinn meant that he wanted his son, and even if he did know or have a suspicion at the time that Lilly was pregnant with his baby, I fully believe he would still abandon her. Perhaps he would be even more likely, he probably saw them both as a problem he had to solve.

Testing on zombies 100% have nefarious side to it shown on tv show so far. I kinda like what i see in this tv show minus one thing that already happened: During episode 1-3 we moved from South-East part of France all the way to Paris that is in north part of the country. That's something like 800km of walking/riding on cart. If we had more time invested for this trip we would see more connection, friendship/team building between main characters of the tv show. Something like what happened in The Last of Us. As of right now i don't feel like i am connected to any character of this tv show other than Daryl because of his past. We are going very fast from one place to another, plot point to plot point. Bam, bam, bam. Something like that happened in Game of Thrones and it was its downfall.

@owieczkacs
@owieczkacs 8 ай бұрын
@@EclecticDD 2-3 minutes of screen time is a really long time, you can put a lot of scenes in that time, simple stuff like: - campfire - laughing while riding on cart - playing together with the kid: running/jumping rocks/fighting with wooden sticks - walking next to each other while camera mounted on drone zoomes out - swimming in lake and jumping to water together - teaching how to ride horse Many bonding opportunities that could have been shown quickly and we would feel connection to main characters.

The zombie Orchestra absolutely freaked me out. Buddy has clearly lost what little sanity he had left. And Isabel realized way too late that she should have taken the little girl with the braids under her wing. What did she think would happen to a child in an apocalypse in a city full of zombies. The scene with the little zombie girl still in her braids was so sad😢

@@stephanieweisbart777I agree that she regrets it now , but at the time it would have been crazy . No one even understood what was happening and Isabella told her to go find her mother right away. I hear what you're saying but at the time it wouldn't have made sense for her to take the little girl and she already had her hands full with her sister. Plus Quinn I'm sure wouldn't have waited for Isabella to go fetch the mother and convince her to come along. LoL, I'm putting an awful lot of thought into a tv show lol. It is really great so far though and I'm so glad about that since TWD is truly my favorite show of all time

Great breakdown! This is def my favorite spinoff... I mean, it's Daryl, so that's automatic win points, but the worldbuilding is fresh, and the current and future variants are fun inclusions that bring new challenges. I hope they introduce the variants at a more rapid rate than drag things out forever like TWD/FTWD tends to do with new villains... it works for their timelines sometimes (sans the lifetime of boredom at Herschel's farm). Hell, only three episodes deep and we're already on a quest that would make Frodo jealous! IMHO, the extreme variants are going to add a lot of fun stuff the lore and giving the overall Walking Dead universe some of the fresh energy it's looking for (I know there are some variant critics, but I think they hit pretty hard). The zombie band was next level. The fact that the show went there (in its infancy, no less) is just a boss move. Love it.

More insults. It's almost like each episode is written and directed by people who were given a 30 second overview of TWD universe and even what happened in the previous episodes. How did Isabelle go from being a warrior nun (and a manipulative thief) to a damsel in distress that just sands frozen when confronted with walkers. For her and the nuns to have survived all this time, they must have dispatched legions of walkers not to mention in the first episode, she rescued Daryl (who inexplicably is now a naive rube that instantly turns his back on strangers so they can get the jump on him or runs blindly after decoys into obvious traps). Is she Faye Wray or Milla Jojovich? What kind of logic dictates that a walker is full of acid that can eat through a locked door, but doesn't dissolve the walker itself? Who taught the CGI team physics that makes walkers that fall out of a third floor window accelerate to the ground like they were shot out of a cannon? They should have thrown a dummies out of the windows and then replaced them with CGI walkers if they don't know what 9.8 m/s² looks like. Then, in what can only be described as a scene right out of the Road Runner cartoons, Daryl stands motionless on a roof top as cracks slowly radiate from his feet until it finally caves in. Any normal person, much less a long time survivor of the apocalypse, would have either jumped aside at the first sign of cracks or dropped down to lay flat to distribute his weight to try to avoid falling through (like you would on a frozen lake). A decent director would have just had the roof cave in instantly instead of making Dixon look like an idiot again. This is so irritating, because the story set up is so good as is the acting. If they only had someone who knew how to direct and to rewrite stupid parts of the script, it would be a masterpiece.

I agree with a lot of what you said. Especially the scene where Daryl and Isabella just leave Laraunt and the girl outside while they wandered behind the lunatic with a zombie orchestra (which looked crazy cool btw, lol). This kid is supposed to be the new Savior and they just leave them outside. Plus the girl I had supposedly been trained with weapons and actually fought off those guys at the monestary and killed a few but she seemed unsure with the walker. It just didn't make sense to me. It was like they were pulling up to the 7-Eleven and told them to wait in the car, lol. It's still a great show to me. Just certain things like you mentioned bug me

In Frank Norris's McTEAGUE, written about a century ago, is primarily about people corrupted by found money. In the final scene, McTeague has handcuffed another guy to him. The guy kills himself. And the novel ends there in Death Valley, McTeague unable to drag the dead guy. I babble through this as it is an incredibly depraved novel. But I saw those two infected as one guy chained to a dead guy, soon the other is dead, too.

6:43 It's a nice story, but the Catacombs have nothing to do with the BLACK DEATH. They were created four centuries later for much less dramatic reasons: Paris needed the real estate that was taken up by massive cemeteries and burial grounds in the city centre, so they exhumed the bones and lined kilometres of old mining tunnels under the city with them.

Maybe it’s just me from the comments but I just don’t think this show is as on the level as Dead City. I guess that’s to be expected though as Maggie and Negan are established characters with an interesting background between them. Some interesting ideas in the series with the variant zombies but Daryl’s story with the supporting characters so far is a bit mid for me. Will have to see how it ends to have a complete opinion but I liked Dead City all the way through. I also think the setting for Dead City was a strength because it was all close destinations where in this series Daryl came from America, then a couple episodes later they are in Paris, wounds are healed and time has just passed.

It just seems like AMC is just sucking the life out of this series for a buck and it might ruin it in the end with these watered downed versions. AMC it's okay to move on to other projects.

Why does Daryl need a radio so badly? Who is he trying to find? A little radio like the ones we’ve seen won’t reach across the ocean.

Haven’t you been paying attention? 🤦‍♂️ he’s trying to get in contact with the people back home like Carol so that he can get some help and get the fuck out of France, and that’s how Carol will appear later on with helping him out I think

@@lesliegalen7018 Yes there is a huge possibility that she could’ve been in that same huge boat that Daryl escaped from and maybe that’s how they got split up and the reason why Daryl is trying to look for a radio so badly? She could be in France somewhere already if that’s the case, but anyways we shall see

That lady looking for Daryl in his show is the same lady in the lab at the end of Beyond The Walking Dead that gets shot in France this is a timeline you remember that lady turns into a variant in the Beyond The Walking Dead I'm pretty much sure this is the same lady after this week because this lady's doing experiments this have to be the same lady in the Beyond The Walking Dead who got shot in the lab in France and turned into the variable

You mean drag queens? For entertainment duh. They are in a club and they have a singer. And besides drag queens and kings have existed since Shakespeare time. Back then men would even play roles of women for the opera. Maybe try and learn something from history instead of being a bigot. It is obvious that the club was made as a distraction from the real world. Just look at all the fancy clothes

I am no longer interested in watching Daryl Dixon. My vision is fading and I do not speak French,..., etc., I am done with subtitles. I am frustrated with the feeling you get when you come into the middle of the movie because details are the glue of the story. I lose details in the flash of a subtitle.

To be honest I thought I'd find the kid annoying but the concept is so interesting. Say what you want about religion but it's a good way to build a community around a common belief. They trained the kid to be as wise as possible and even if he isn't the second coming of Jesus, he should make a good leader. We've seen in the walking dead that the biggest threat is other humans. If they can work together they can thrive in communities. Laurant would possible attract more people/followers who can work together.

Easily my least favorite of the spin offs. Can’t even finish it. The third episode is so much wasted potential. Finally shows a cool variant and scientist working on walkers and the catacombs in the zombie apocalypse. Where do we go from all this setup? A gay/trans cross dressing night club with people that look scarier than the zombies. Hard pass on the show. Skipped it
