You can start with whatever resources you wish.

Can I ask why use brown ? Is it not better to use grey since there's a lower chance of changing, or is it different now with this system?

Ghost Pepper said he'll answer in greater detail in his next video--which is coming soon, sorry for the delay!--but also said this: "Grey for type fail, because highest chance. Grey for step recipes if first out of brown. Brown for jumps recipes. Brown for step recipes. Green for class bonus step recipes. Optional, green for no bonus step. Gold for type recipes on trait bonuses. Blue for upgrade into gold and for type recipes on trait bonuses. This is what I recommend for most players."
