Nah, Dale would have gotten them killed or worse.... That kid was a clear threat. You can tell by the way he talked to Daryl. The way he told that “story” made it seem like he was directly involved until the end, when he saw Daryl wasn’t amused. Since Daryl was the one doing the dirty work he thought he could convince him to switch sides... He was trying to go back to his group even after they left him for dead. That pretty much proves he wasn’t just some innocent bystander.
@andrewmiller3478 Жыл бұрын
@@dylangerber5163 I'm not saying whether Dale was right or wrong. I'm just saying I saw him as a conscious. Yes, if the group wanted to survive further Dale's ways would only get them killed. Dale was killed off because showrunner Frank Darabont left the show for a variety of behind the scenes drama reasons. Dale’s actor Jeffrey DeMunn was a friend of Darabont and basically quit the show in protest of his friend leaving. He later had second thoughts, but by then it was too late and they couldn’t undo the death they’d planned for him.

Dale died a little early in the show. In the comics he actually makes it to their next camp after the farm and dies after that. He is mostly the same in both the show and comics, only major difference is in the comics Dale's relationship with Andrea becomes sexual at the next camp despite their big age gap. So that is why the show focused more a potential love interest between Andrea and Shane and killed off Dale early instead.
@nebulousreactions Жыл бұрын

It's usually a thing in TV and movies that zombies are dumbed down to just gross motor skill with no real fine motor skill so they are uncoordinated but very strong. If this virus was real it's not far fetched to say it signals your musculoskeletal system way different because it depends on that to survive. For example like if you were to punch a concrete wall you couldn't possibly bring yourself to punch it as hard as you can because you're subconsciously worried about injuring yourself. A zombie would have ZERO regard for their health even if they had a conscience lol I mean they endlessly pursue prey even if they have guns capable of blowing their damn head off. So the virus basically uses a reanimated body as a host and uses it as a tool to go full force no matter what in order to spread and survive. They are slow and stupid but all the strength is in the arms, hands, and jaws. Plus all it does is bite it doesn't necessarily have to process and digest food so alllllllllllll the energy our bodies are used to using for all this shit to keep us alive they could probably use to make their bones and muscle super strong. I can do this shit all day god damn look at that novel I just typed 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I always appreciated that Dale still wanted to carry some form of moral compassion, even in this new absurd world. Sure that may be seen as weakness to some, but you still need that optimism and hopeful outlook on life, and that’s what Dale gave this group. He was a father figure & someone who kept them hopeful no matter how he was feeling himself or the backlash it caused him. I may not have agreed with everything he did, but I definitely understand him wanting to hold onto his humanity. After all, you still need that little bit of humanity and moral compass to trust others in this new world too and let them in even if it’s risky. You can’t just murder everyone because they may be a possible threat and I think Dale could see that once that choice was made to take someone’s life, they would have a hard time coming back from that and he was right to some capacity. If that were the case, this group would have fallen apart from the start and Shane literally was murking anyone he considered a threat even if they weren’t, and I think Dale was afraid of the rest of the group falling into the same mindset. Maybe that’s just the way I see it haha, but I can absolutely understand both sides of the argument from both the group and from Dale.

One of the most impacting scenes early in the series Dale just wanted to be heard express himself and not lose hope as a human being He was always the voice of reason. Daryl is the true MVP here. As the group’s second in command Shane should have carried the weight when Rick couldn’t bring himself to do what was necessary and end Dale’s suffering and that’s not a negative comment on Rick Rick’s the one with the burden of leadership and all his decisions affect the group The sudden loss of Dale was too much for Rick to take after the loss of Sophia and quarrel over what to do with Randall. Unlike Shane Daryl showed he would help Rick carry the weight Daryl replaced Shane as second in command the moment he put down Dale.

Fun Facts about Season 2 Episode 11 • Last appearance of Dale Horvath. (Alive) ^Dale is the first main character to die • The title of the episode, "Judge, Jury, Executioner", implies these roles will be filled out for Randall's fate. However, only the Judge and Jury roles pertain to him, with Rick as the judge and the group as the jury. The executioner is Daryl, who instead kills a suffering Dale when Rick cannot bring himself to do it. • According to Greg Nicotero, when originally scripted, Dale was supposed to find Jimmy having been attacked instead of the cow that was filmed. • Jeffrey DeMunn, who played Dale, had a change of heart about leaving the show and asked after filming his death if the showrunners could change the episode so he could live and keep portraying the character. Unfortunately, they had already filmed the scene and decided not to spend the extra money that would be required to reshoot the ending. • When Dale finds the wounded cow and is then attacked by a walker himself, the cow is gone. • When Rick first reaches the mortally wounded Dale Horvath, he puts his Colt Python back in its holster. After Hershel reveals that Dale won't survive, the gun is in his hand again. Moments later, after deciding to put Dale out of his misery, Rick has to draw his gun from its holster again.

Yes Carl lead the walker there i guess, but at the same time he ran from the walker and the walker had fallen over its possible he didnt think it would be able to follow him because he was faster. There is also animals on the farm so if it followed carl to a certain point and lost track of him it could of just as easily been drawn the rest of the way by an animal. If we are gonna blame the walker getting dale in this episode on carl, a child. then we gotta blame glenn, an adult and his "cool car" on the walker horder that came through the atlanta camp and killed amy.

My most hated episode of the series. My favourite character, gone like that. When I first saw this episode, I found it odd that he got so much screentime in this episode, him talking about civilization falling, and that they were the bad guys if they also did the killing, because he was 100% right on that. You can't expect to be anything different when you slaughter a human being, and then say you're not a murderer somehow, because obviously the one that was supposed to be shot in the face, didn't wanted to die. By this point, if a new group of survivors would have started raiding the farm, and saw these guys in the barn like that, obviously everyone would think they weren't the main characters/good guys lol. I also know why this scene happened. Jeffrey DeMunn and some others of this cast, worked together for a long time as they played in other movies together, like The Mist (should see that one if you haven't yet) The actress that played Andrea was also in that movie, and so was Carol. Frank Darabont that made this series so great before it went downhill (my opinion) left I believe around season 2 because he was fired, and that's why this happened as Jeffrey and Frank knew each other so Jeffrey wanted to quit the show. I understand the background, but at the time because I am European, I wasn't aware of what was going on behind the scenes, because as a European, the information was scarce and I came to know about this information many years later through digging myself for info and youtube videos explaining it. It was broadcast for me on Fox Europe, and the Talking Dead stuff came a few years later for me right after season finales and stuff so I really wasn't aware of behind the screen issues or other fun stuff. Fear The Walking Dead was also something not being broadcast here...so I had to use..other methods to watch it lol.
