Fun Fact: The snowball fight scene was improvised by Norman Reedus it was unscripted which I really love because It just shows the freedom that Angela Kang is giving to her actors The show needed to breathe after all that Negan fiasco from Seasons 7/8 and Angela Kang was the right showrunner for the job because she seems to be very collaborative and allows more organic scenes.

In Virginia, the weather can be kind of weird, you can go 6 years then get a really bad winter or snow storm, especially with global warming. I don't live in Virginia but I live on the border in Kentucky so it's believable. Yes, I still hated Negan up to this point but him saving Judith is a little redemption. He's got a long way to go before he can be trusted by our people though

I was going to say this. I live in Maryland (the state above Virginia) and snow usually only affects the top half of the state up. Southeastern Maryland and Virginia at most gets freezing rain or a light flurry. I remember getting two-three feet of snow every year back in the '80s. Now we're lucky to get a foot and that's only because I live at a higher elevation on the Pennsylvania border.

I also think the fact that society broke down in 2010 means that global warming started to diminish or lower so in turn the weather patterns would be different, a place that would have occasional snow or very little snow may end getting snowstorms more often especially if it's 10+ years without heavy fuel,energy, and resource usage

It's a testament to the writers of this show that it could lose a vital character like Rick & keep the show going at this level. It's because they spent so much time building up the supporting characters & make you love them. I wish could tell you that your nerves can take a rest for a while, but the next two seasons are pretty intense.

@@itzbp9949 I agree with your assessment, but season 9 is still top 5 seasons imo (4, 5, 3, 9, 2, 6, 1, 7, 8, 11, 10 is my order, but honestly 9, 2 and 6 are interchangeable since they're all so different and I like them for different reasons). 9x5 and 9x15 are both easily top 10 episodes of the show for me. The Whisperers were a new and interesting threat, and I absolutely loved the idea of the time jump. Judith became a top 10 character on my tier list of the whole show, and Negan is always entertaining. Seasons 10 and 11 were a pretty big fall off in quality, and that's when I REALLY started to feel the lack of Rick. I was shocked how much I liked season 9, since Rick is my favorite character of any show I've ever watched, but I feel the new/development of characters and the whisperer arc was enough to make me sometimes forget how much I missed Rick.

The scene where Ezekiel puts his hand on Tara’s name on the charter is so small but sad I loved the atmosphere of this episode I love the scene when Michonne and the group arrive back at Alexandria before the snowball fight Seeing the Alexandria sign being swiped the small Skeleton crew of characters arriving back home after such a loss on the pikes and in the snow Seeing the small disheartening group It just made me think of all the characters we once had who have fought to get them to where they are now Rick Carl Andrea Hershel Beth Lori Sasha Shane Glenn Abraham everyone who played their part.

Lauren Cohan is Australian, yes. Doing an American Southern (Georgia) accent as Maggie. It's a little overly strong, but I've gotten used to it. I'm from Georgia and no one ever gets it right. Andrew Lincoln is pretty darn good for a Brit though.

in the comics this was actually the 3rd harsh winter we'd seen, and it was implied there where a few more off panel, but since goergia, where the show is filmed, doesn't have harsh winters like.. at all.. it's a very hot and humid part of the world, they cut the first few winters out in timeskip and made this winter even harde than it was in the comics to compensate. to add to that, that's also why saying "carl is 12 when he dies" isn't really accurate since the show does have a lot more timeskips than the comics, which implies more time has passed than passed in the comics by the time of series 8. it's more likely a few more years passed in the tv universe than what had passed in the comics. especially since the established timeskips are also lengthened.

Just for confirmation the voice on the radio was a female saying Is anybody out there I wanted to let you know just in case if you guys didn’t pick up on it Overall really cool finale I’m glad we finally saw winter time in TWD universe Obviously budgetary purposes were why it took so long but they did just an incredible job with it I loved how it really represents the storm going on inside of all of our characters post pike scene The finale isn’t exactly the most intense episode but it does such a wonderful job with wrapping up the season yet teasing new things to come Also pretty sure Carol divorcing Ezekiel is the saddest breakup on this show After Henry’s death she recognizes that everything she had at the Kingdom was a fairytale and that Henry’s death is a wakeup call She can’t keep living like that because in her mind it’s all fake Poor Ezekiel can’t catch a friggin break.

Yep she had to 1. Create a proper exit for Rick 2. Create a proper exit for Jesus and other characters 3. Had to do multiple time skips 4. Had to create new episodes during COVID 5. Had to introduce new characters 6. Had to reintroduce other characters 7. Had to break up the final season into 3 parts and was rushed by Amc 8. Had to adapt the best comicbook arc without Rick 9. Had to redeem Negan and introduce Judith She did all this with a measly budget

When I look at Negan's relationship with Judith, particularly in this episode, I keep thinking what would Rick think if he was here? If he saw the care and change in Negan, wouldn't Rick start to be proud of him. I bet he'd appreciate it. It's heartful and such a great development with Negan. Anyway, you guys finished season 9! I loved this season. While I liked season 7 and 8, I think season 9 was a great comeback after two weaker seasons.

There was a big making of for this episode and anything not set in there main standing locations kingdom,hilltop,Alexandria was all done indoors in 2 huge aircraft hangers and they had 2 days to film b4 the chemicals that they used for the snow started to go the consistency of mash potatoes

Just in case if you guys were wondering about the timeline of the show overall I’ve been working on it for a long time with the help of a website I’ll simplify the best I can because the list I have is the exact date for each episode Season 1: October 2010 Season 2: October 2010 Season 3: June 2011 Season 4-8 happens from December 2011 - April 2012 and the parts of Season 9 before Rick’s disappearance is late 2013 This episode takes place in March 2020 and as of 10x16 they’re in August 2020 weather and Carl’s age are very inconsistent but that is the Timeline.

Did you see that not one Alexandrian run after Judith. It was Negan who took the risk over him alone. I was dissappointed at Rosita, Eugene, Gabe and all the others. They chose to spare the kid.

I don't think they saw or heard her going away, i think only Negan saw it bs he was the one immediately behind her, like, look at that storm, they prob couldn't hear a thing, and had to walk looking down so that ice wouldn't cut them or enter their eyes. That's how I see it at least, that's makes way more sense to me than Rosita or Gabriel not going after her, Rosita because it's Rosita and Gabriel bc at this point he's not a coward anymore, and he was left to take care of Judith

I'll be honest, Alden pisses me off. I get that he's angry over losing Enid, but the way he takes it out on Lydia is just nasty and uncalled for. He spend so much of Season 8 trying to convince Hilltop and Maggie that while they Saviours did bad things, not everyone in the group was there by choice, or where bad, yet can't understand that Lydia was stuck in a very similar situation. Again, I get that he's angry over Enid, but if anyone should be able to understand Lydia's situation it should be Alden.

Aldens reaction to Lydia surprised me a lot, I wasn't expecting it. I think that Alden wasn't just angry over Enid though but also losing Tammy Rose (His "bosses" wife), he probably had got to know Ozzy and the other "Highway men". I'd venture that hilltop is small enough that you get to know people quite quickly.

Completely understandable and I think him being a hypocrite here is actually a pretty realistic response he is blinded by grief and isn't realizing that he was in a similar position years ago since recent wounds can hurt the most, he was also very close to Earl and Tammy so her death probably bothered him too.

Because of Corona the plans change and they included the Winter for the first time. They shoot always in the Georgia Summer heat but as I wrote - Corona fcked even TWD. In the Comics Winter is a main theme, look for Clothes and so on.....

Angela Kang the showrunner explained that Carol got to "live the fairytale" with Ezekiel, but it was never meant to last. Kang has been quoted in interviews that Daryl and Carol are soulmates....some people think this is platonic, others, myself included think they are romantic soulmates. It's just an extremely slow burn. Another producer, Denise Huth, talked about that Carol cannot get the comfort she needs with Ezekiel. But Daryl is always gonna be the person she turns to for comfort. Season 10 is a big season for Daryl and Carol's relationship.
