He didn't leave her behind because of 'IMAGE', she was what made him... KING Ezekiel. Back when this was airing, those of us who served couldn't 'fathom' that his troop didn't have ONE VETERAN to insist they *Duck N Cover!*

I remember when this episode aired. In the after-show, Talking Dead, everyone was 'up in arms' about Shiva. I think one of the directors, or an actor, was saying, "All these people riled up about a fake tiger?!" Or something like that, then everyone laughed. However, many people loved that CG tiger, including myself! Lol. Every episode the show does a 'final goodbye' to everyone that dies in the episode, even the walkers. Shiva's memorial was very nice, if it helps. 🤘😁🥺🐯

2:50 YES!! Khary Peyton aka King Ezekiel is an AMAZING voice actor too, he does a lot of DC Animated proyects mostly as Cyborg but I "meet him" as Aqualad in Young Justice. Such an underrated actor imo.

I think I've said it like, 5 times... but this episode is probably the most underrated. The story of Ezekiel and his character are extremely underrated, and I like the depression in this episode, and it goes to show that he is just some guy.

I have rewatched this series more times than I can count, but this episode wrecked me! I have never rewatched it in full because of Shiva's death. I sobbed so hard on all levels. Shiva went out saving his Master and seeing King Ezekiel see that was was heart wrenching 💔 Another episode I can't rewatch in full is of course Glenn and Abraham's death. I am a true animal lover and even though it was CGI, I took Shiva's death harder than most character deaths! Great reaction guys! ❤

This one dug deep into Ezekiel Losing his men and then being talked down before losing Shiva really did a number on him He may have made it back home but like many wars he lost a lot of good men.

Personally I loved this episode At The beginning Shiva was hurt and Ezekiel jumped into her cage and saved her and now Ezekiel was hurt and Shiva jumped in to save him Except this time she didn’t get out alive I can’t watch that scene without crying Ezekiel’s reaction breaks my heart every time RIP Shiva I never thought I’d cry over the death of a CGI animal until I did Also in case you guys didn’t realize the random Savior Daryl gunned down told Rick and Daryl that those guns went to Gavin’s outpost which was the one The Kingdom attacked That’s why Daryl and Rick showed up out of nowhere at the end XD

Cooper Andrews who plays Jerry is half Samoan so his character being strong is no surprise to me I assumed he was of Samoan descent like Samoa Joe Dwayne The Rock Johnson (And his wrestling relatives) etc the first time I saw him The strongest men in the world for the most part are big looking dudes who don’t have the muscle tone of Arnold Schwarzenegger in his bodybuilder days. Ezekiel saves Shiva from her pit at the start of the apocalypse because she had an Injured leg and Shiva sacrificed herself to do the same for Ezekiel.

Love episodes like this , tough to watch but getting to know the true depth of the newer characters. This episode made me fall in love with Jerry, yeah he's funny but he's loyal and really believes in ezekiel and E needs that, he needs to be needed and feel useful. Love them both. ❤

After I saw this episode, whenever I'm going to do something very heavy and important I mention something from my life and I still smile. Ezequiel and his brave kingdom razed in battle, felt sad and even guilty that so many died for him. Especially the wonderful Shiva. This is what men put us in, war, death and this even extends into a post-apocalypse, because perverse beings are thirsty for power, not just for survival. Screw you, saviors. Long live to the king.

The king felt guilty, because he originally led a bunch of his people to their death, Benjamin and Henry’s dad for one. He didn’t want to go into battle for that reason, then he finally agreed to go to war, and not only did majority of his soldiers get killed, but a bunch of them sacrificed themselves to protect him. Now he’s having an identity crises because he created this king persona thinking that’s what his followers needed but now he’s thinking I’m just some guy and these people died for me, thinking he’s a fraud.

The kid actor that plays Henry is Macsen Lintz. He is also the younger brother of Madison Lintz, who portrayed Sophia in Seasons 1 and 2. He is also the younger brother of Matt Lintz, who portrays the older version of his character Henry in Season 9

One of the toughest episodes of the Season Watching Ezekiel’s whole character deteriorate due to the situation was so sad and depressing I like how they explained how some of the Walkers look pale and chalk white like the one Ezekiel noticed earlier Toxic waste I also like to believe that it refers to the title of the episode as well Ezekiel’s king character melted away and he reverted to just Some Guy Feeling no different than the deformed Walkers.

Love your excitement when you see Jerry. 😂 I think he's such a great character. He's so real. Poor Shiva😢 She was what makes the king , the King. When Carol met him he said thats why he became the king. To his people she made him bigger than life. It was heartbreaking loosing her. Rick and Darryl together are some pair. 9:30 I rewatched Robs response to finding out Jerry's alive like 10 times 😂😂 Definitely one of my favourite Rob reactions! “You don't need to call me that.” “Dude, yes I do.” Is such a powerful moment for me. Ezekiel found a way to keep hope alive where there was none. By being King he gave his people something to fight for other than just survival. In a world where inspiration would be had to find, he became the embodiment of hope. He isn’t “just some guy” like he called himself near the end of this episode, he is absolutely everything to his people.

The story I have heard, true or not, was that Shiva was introduced into the comics after the TV series had begun and creator Robert Kirkman gave us Shiva to see how far he could push the show runners when trying to adapt the comics. Obviously it was no easy task and the show runners were smart to limit her use, but they definitely stepped up in respecting the source material.

I think Eziekiel had the right mindset. Fake it til you make it for your people. But at the same time they're eliminating the threat of these murderers unlike Jesus at Hilltop who is trying so hard to save them. I get many of these people were forced into working for Negan to survive, but why is that on Jesus? And why is it Jesus's decision to endanger everyone in his community by bringing said people back to his home?
