I loved season 8 and the end to all out war. People are so quick to bash TWD after 8 seasons, there are definitely mistakes but the show is still incredible and has so many layers to it in terms of representation and character development. I rewatched the prior episodes with Eugene and you can see the seeds being planted here and there that lead to his eventual turn back to the Survivors. Especially in "Worth", they make it look like what Rosita said to him made him even more evil, but looking back it actually made him realize how much he needed to do something to stop Negan. There are so many different things about TWD that I love. The finale was a 9.5 out of 10 for me, I just wish the Negan v Rick was longer. Maybe it wasn't because of episode 12. I love you Trev I always like a vid when you drop it.

I really enjoyed this season! I have a hard time choosing between seasons 3 and 1 for my favorites. I base it off the fact that those are the two where I completely enjoyed each and every episode. I don't find myself wanting to skip over ones to make it through. I'd have to say after those, for me it's 6,5,,8,2,4, and then 7. Season 2's finale is still by far my fave season finale, with 7's a close 2nd.

Hey Trev, how about a video about the problem with Darryl's character development. He's still a fave of mine and if he dies i will turn off the tv and stop watching TWD right then and there. But, with that being said, the character has kind of faded into the background. They have Norman Reedus's face covered with his long hair and no dialogue- just a few grunts here and there. I wish they would give Darryl a stroryline and a girlfriend!

My list from best to worst! My opinion! - #1 : Season 6 Really loved the No Way Out story arc and Something to Fear arc! Introduced us to Dwight, that is one of my favorite characters right now! - #2 : Season 8 Loved episode 1-5, didn't like 6 and 7 as much, but after that perfect season! - #3 : Season 4 The sickness arc wasn't that interesting but I really liked the Governer, the Claimers and Terminus! - #4 : Season 5 First 3 episodes were amazing! But the Beth story arc with the hospital people was so boring to me, after episode 10 it got really good with the Alexandria story arc! - #5 : Season 1 Good start to a fantastic series! Really enjoyed this season, but not the best! - #6 : Season 7 Liked the start, didn't like the bottle episodes though, some were ok, some weren't. The March to War arc was pretty amusing though! - #7 : Season 3 First 2 episodes were amazing! Wasn't that much of a fan of Woodbury though. :/ Had some great moments with Michonne and Merle returning. Finale was a let down. - #8 : Season 2 Started of great, had much filler until the mid season finale. Then it was better, but definitly not the best!

No perfect seasons of the show unfortunately. 1. Season 5- Character development, well written episodes, loved the story from terminus, to the hunters, to Beth and the hospital, to Alexandria. 2. Season 6- season had everything every other season has had besides episodes bottled up and not as well written, and cliffhangers. 3. Season 2- Shane's arc was the best of the series, first time humans became the threat, shocking deaths and amazing score 4. Season 4- Awesome season, really good writing with each character getting their own arc and development. Loved the change in tone 5. Season 8- Lots of action, a few interesting arcs, lack of character development, Death all around, and a really strong back half 6. Season 3- Liked the governor arc but didn't like the second half, especially episodes 11,13,16. Didn't like the Andrea at all, but Merle, yeah! 7. Season 1- Good first season, small but sweet 8. Season 7- Boring

Season 5 at Terminus. Carol showed her bad ass self and it was the BEST rescue! 2nd best is Rick with the Claimers!! When Rosita asked Eugene if the bullets were his doing, she said (paraphrased), "The bullets. You??" That was almost exactly like Rick asking Carol if she was the one who saved them from Terminus. Same scenario and same resolution.

It has to take less effort to film these later seasons, I would not be surprised if Rick and Negan both filmed the whole season in a few days, same goes for every other character in the show, they split so much of the screen time now with all the characters. Still love the show, still holding on to the magic of the first couple seasons.

The problem the show has with pacing is because of tent polling the season with story arcs that weren't designed to fill out a 16 episode season. I understand the need to start and end story arcs in premieres and finales but if you can't fill in the gaps with quality add ins, like terminus to the hunters arc, the season will suffer.

I think this stigma of hating on the walking dead a started with the season 6 cliffhanger. If they would've just ended the episode when Negan came out of the RV, then panned over to Rick looking scared af with some terrifying music, people probably would've taken it a lot better. But also I believe season 7 was subpar with all the bottle episodes & really slowed down the pace of the show.

As the saying goes--it's not about the size, it's how you use it. Just because season 8 did 'more' than season 3 doesn't mean anything in terms of quality. Though I think a lot of this is going back to the old Governor vs Negan debate; there's a lot of villain bias that comes into play when trying to consider which seasons were 'the best', and I say this including myself as well. As someone who hasn't read the comics, and going purely off of the tv show interpretations, I personally felt that the Governor was a better villain overall in the show. He had a solid story, he had solid motivations, he had a memorable and distinct personality, and the overall way in which his story arc was handled--for the most part--was incredible. Because of that, I automatically find myself having a preference for seasons 3 and 4 rather than seasons 6, 7, and 8--despite the fact that the latter three were 'bigger' seasons than the other two. Whereas I've noticed that people who are huge Negan fans (which, for the record, I do enjoy him as a villain) are much more inclined to say that these latter seasons have been the 'best' the show has ever had. Which, fair enough, it's just that I think the villain factor is worthwhile in bringing up when trying to rank the seasons. :)

It's really hard to rank these seasons because our lives change over the course of the series. I was in college during seasons 2, 3, and 4 and because I had some friends that were into it, it was more enjoyable. Now that I'm four years removed from college and life has gotten busy (friends move away, working constantly, etc.), it's lessened the enjoyment I get from the series.

The simple answer without writing an essay is both yes and no. It gave us a resolution to the “All Out War” arc but many of the episodes were just unnecessary padding. Hopefully next season is way more focused.

The pacing of this season was remenicent of the pacing of..... let's say season 2-4 And 6. It was well planned and well executed in my opinion. Got a lot of season 3 vibes from this season.

My own, "short", personal review of season 8: Season 8 of the Walking Dead is one of the most multilayered and thematicaly complex seasons of the show. Showcasing, or at least trying to, effects of war and death on individual characters and communities they belong to, while at the same time asking you the question: "Who is right and who is wrong"?........Or, to be more precise, : "Who is the bad guy and who is the good guy"? Rick vs Negan dillema has never been more prevalent, while also showing us a different side of Negan and his own reasoning behind his actions, but never to a point where the show would linger too much on one character, since there are many more with their own communities and beliefs, while trying to maintain their own "humanity". This "humanity" is not only shown through "Ricks group", but, also, through Saviours, showing us that "Monsters" (also the title of the episode) exist on every side, especially, during war and, most of the time, everything is about "perspective". Multilayered, complex and fast paced, however there are flaws that come in certain episodes, where the stories are crammed in one episode that isnt able to handle so many story threads and character arcs, so the episode feels all over the place without any sense of cohesion. The best example of that flaw is episode 13 and the last act of the finale.

season 7 wasn't as bad as ppl say it was IMO I mean we got to see Negan finally introduced with the saviors and what they're all about, Ezekiel and Shiva (RIP) with the kingdom and all the community's join together....its all part of the storyline it wasn't the greatest season but also not the worst imo

I'm with you Trev, I think it falls somewhere in the middle. Not the worst, not the best. I think if someone who's never seen the show, sat down and binge watched the whole thing, they would say season 8 was actually great. I mean you look back to the first 1/2 of season 2 and nothing happened. It was essentially a soap opera without zombies. The reality is that people are just tired of it. It's not as new and fresh which makes it hard to get excited about. I really think it all comes down to that. Any show that's on long enough is bound to lose viewers.

Hard to say what season I like the most cause I really love the show and anticipate the next episode So badly during the season that choosing a favorite is like asking me what one of my kids I Love the most. Some have been a little duller or slower than others but I love them all the same , flaws and all.

I was fine with the amount of fighting in the ending. With all the previous fighting, I didn't see the need for more and thought there was enough additional action that it made sense but without it being overblown. I saw it in the theater without commercials so maybe that made the difference, but to me it seemed like there was a lot going on already and the ending came sooner than I expected so I don't think more was needed.

My seasons from best to worst: 1. Season 5 (terminus storyline, and Alexandria storyline are two of my favourites) 2. Season 1 (loved Darabonts direction, the first episode and the CDC episode) 3. Season 3 (introduced the Governor, amazing characters like Merle and Michonne) 4. Season 4 (second half was a bit boring imo, but Too Far Gone remains one of the most fantastic episodes for me) 5. Season 2 (Quite boring, but the Sophia reveal and Shane storylines kinda redeemed it) 6. Season 6 (No Way Out was very good, but there were too many stupid decisions. Not to mention cliffhangers and fake-outs) 7. Season 8 (Felt very repetitive, and they killed Carl, but I liked the character depth that they gave Negan) 8. Season 7 (need I say more)

i don't understand why so many are hating on season 7! I personally thought season 7 was packed with suspense! Glenn and Abraham getting lucille'd, Daryl getting locked up, Carl and Negan's interaction, Sasha sacrificing herself. Just because Negan had the upper-hand the entire season practically, doesn't make it the worst IMO.

Your favorite season is my worst one !!! I hate the fact that since when they went to Alexandria the series became more like a soap opera. Less adventure and suspense, more drama and scenes with long dialogues just for filling the lack of inspiration. My favorite season was season 1 ! A very different vibe from what the series had in the last seasons and I really love the show until the beggining of season 5. I wish The Walking Dead would have keept the same mysterious and creepy vibes which has from the season 1 until now.....
