Where The Walking Dead started to decline is when they had the Governor get a rag-tag group together, instead of keeping his town of Woodbury intact, to attack the prison which was unrealistic. Glenn's fake death was really foolish and caused the viewers to lose faith in what they saw in future episodes. Shiva (Tiger) should not had been put on the TV show, maybe being replaced by a wolf of the same name for realism, and having King Ezekiel talking like a medieval jester adds to the silly factor that has caused the show to decline. The Scavengers never should have been put on the show with their baby-talk and bad haircuts with the Whisperers taking their place. Negan should had lasted for one season with the all-out war lasting for a half of that season.

This thing with Negan started great, every scene with him was saving the show. But problem is that Negan is weak. He lets killers of his people to live, and in same time he kills his own best people. As opponent, Negan could not hold the candle to the Governor.

I will admit the Sophia reveal was heartbreaking but I will respectfully disagree with the “character development” part. It came off as they though they thought characters bickering one on one was a way to “develop characters”.

Same don't get the hate , u need let characters and audience breathe and see whos who really by their reaction to dilemma's, I.e Shane was right for the selfish reasons, rick was holding to hope but it didn't pan out. Sometimes characters and audience need feel safe and then you bring the dread that that's getn ripped away.

This show is just a daytime soap opera with the occasional poorly shot action sequence. The characters make asinine decisions that amount to nothing at all and the show just keeps spinning its wheels. Consistensy is thrown entirely out the window for plot moments. Every character has 2 accuracy settings while shooting: either John Wick or StormTrooper and nothing inbetween. You can get 3 head shots from 50 yards away with a revolver, while sprinting full speed but an entire firing squad with rifles and the element of suprise can't hit 1 of 7 sitting ducks standing out in the open.

the first thing that hit my mind watching the first episode was (shit it has a fucking low budget show feeling) the characters, writing, the camera shots etc... same as the second and third episode, the show has become just "another boring show" instead of being "the show" as it was years back. they should've stopped after season 3/4 at the best. the show for me was already taking a fucking strong boredom feeling in that time. i had to skip minutes after minutes to just see the end of these 3 episodes and i feel like i hadn't missed much. the walking dead is fucking dead for me. i'am stoping watching waste of time, no taste at all.

The last episode of The Walking Dead should be an example of how not to write a gunfight scene. First off Let me just get this out of the way I know the show is fiction, but still, if you're going to write a gunfight at least research of ballistics on a 50 caliber. Because a 50 caliber machine gun would shred that jeep Rick Grimes was in, but in the scene, the 50 caliber rounds hit all around Rick's engine and the jeep still kept running a full speed. It took me an all of 20 minutes on youtube to research the guns in my book, Lilith. So what's Walking Deads problem?

This mid-season finale of Walking Dead was Anticlimactic. They made Maggie look stupid when she sees a downed tree that looks freshly cut down and instead of getting out of the car readying for combat she and her people just sits there second guessing the situation. The death of Carl? Really Scott Gimple? That is your big "Change the face of Walking Dead forever" FYI killing off main characters is nothing special for your series. This show has become a total plethora of lazy writing. This episode was kind of a letdown and it makes me sick to admit that. Oh, and Lets not forget how Ricks Jeep can take a 50 caliber machine and still keep on trucking.

At the end of season 7 Shiva pulls the deux ex machina and saves the day... Basically we the audience, are at the exact same point we were at after Negan killed Abraham and Glenn. Everything that happens in between leads us to the exact same point... Except we now have Shiva, could have done without the rest. Haven't seen one second of season 8. Done with TWD

U can’t lie and say the search for Sofia wasn’t a slow paced storyline but Shanes story saved season 2 and it’s good that they didn’t stick to the source material of the comics since it was only 3 issues it added to the shows creativity and gave the major characters their development for the next season

@ Elon Rich I'm pretty much on the same page with your analysis of all the seasons, however I think that the show has become TOTALLY ridiculous since season 7 when they brought in King Ezekiel, The Trash group and Negan. You have a guy, King Ezekiel, who pretends to be a medieval king, leading an entire community and no one bats an eyelash or thinks it's a joke. Then you have people who like to live around trash for some reason, who, within a couple of years forget how to talk?! You have Negan, who was a total bad ass in the season 6 finale and season 7 premier, turn into a total joke. Too many jokes for one thing and then his entire army KNEELS to him?! For real? Adolph Hitler, Stalin, Saddam Hussein and Kim Jung Un don't even get that treatment. Well maybe Kim Jung Un but that's North Korea! I know that nothing in the show is real and zombies don't exist but this other stuff just pushed it over the edge for me . I also know this stuff is all in the comics but I don't see that it translates well to TV. Rick is supposed to be hell bent on killing Negan. He shoots at him from a few feet away with a MACHINE GUN in the season 8 premier and totally misses?! In the mid season finale he had Negan cold and instead of bashing his head in with Lucille, he turns the bat around, GRABBING THE BARBED WIRE END of it and hits him that way?! Rick then gets knocked out of the window by Negan with the gun still in his hand but instead of getting up and firing back into the window at Negan he runs away?! Finally, after all the shit Carl has been through and survived since the beginning, he gets bit by a walker while having play time with Siddiq and the zombies?! This first half of season 8 just did it for me. I'll still be watching to give it another chance because I'm already too invested in it but I am totally disgusted at this point because it seems that the the writers themselves don't even care about the show anymore with the way they're going with it.

It is quite simple... they fired Frank Darabont and that was their first mistake. Then, secondly, they quickly caught on the longer this show goes on the more of a cash cow it becomes (and has!). I still love the Rick and Carl characters but my excitement of waiting to see the next episodes is waning as I get sick of watching a program which is stuffed (like all of them nowadays) with over 20 mins of ads over 3 breaks. The makers have become greedy as they think they (still) own the holy grail of TV shows but if the ratings really drop and quickly then TWD could find itself pulled from the air and left in an uncertain limbo with so many questions left unanswered. Firefly all over again? !!

Yeah man I agree I don't enjoy this show as much as I used to with season 1&2. They drag out storylines way too much I'm beyond tired of the negan and savior's storyline just end it already. I stop watching walking dead mid season 4. try getting back again But feels like don't batter. they focus with talking a lot characters they end up dead or BIT. "THERE'S NO ZOMBIES!" No ZOMBIES to Kill who's the guy with the baseball bat "negan". it's road warriors with Zombies. I like first and third season. after that it just went down hill.

I can see your point. In my own opinion, when give a story with source material, you have to respect its core. Changing KEY details can either make or break your adaptation. In my opinion, the tv show’s change in key details has broken the show. The best deviation it has done is allowing Shane to live longer in the apocalypse.

How can they capture negan when at the moment Rick wants him dead? Ricks characters has to go through things in the story to lead him to the descion to keep him alive you can't do all that in one episode..... CGCentral HD in the comic Neagen pushes back against Rick and starts popping grenades over the walls on Alexandria. Rick then takes a different approach to the war and approaches Neagen with intellectual warfare and convinces him to just work together with him. The enlightened Neagen agrees after some convincing then instantly rick cuts his throat with a knife and they have a fight while Neagen is bleeding out. Neagen breaks Rick's leg then faints. The doctor at Alexandria runs up to help Rick and he demands for her to save Neagen because rick will live for now with a broken leg be Neagen wont with a slashed neck. So in the comics they didn't want to kill Neagen because Neagen had plenty of opportunities to kill Rick and his family but didn't. So Rick ends up locking Neagen behind bars and plans to see him rot there for the rest of his life.

Frank that's not actually true (about them not wanting to kill Negan)... according to Kirkman, Negan *WAS supposed to die* in the comic but HE fell in love with the character and kept basically... making excuses in the form of the written word to keep the Negan character in the comic. The show doesn't have to keep him alive either and if they don't do more than what was done in the comic to justify just locking him up, they will lose viewers. Most viewers don't read the comics and want to see Negan get his just like any of the other villains that came before him. I thought the whole 'talk him into it' WAS UNREALISTIC OF THE COMIC! It just seemed stupid to me.

I thought the walking dead was about zombies eating human meat of course you must have the characters who don't die. Until they ask for a raise in pay. Or just fire Carl and then they kill him. Oit of 8 seasons I can count the action episodes and a few zombie bites and they did tear up a horse. And the had a feast in the camp on the fourth episode I can't remember. But the rest of the series sucked. And season 9 is going to suck a bigger one. Just end the show with a good finally theu all get eaten by Zombies not walkers.
