At this point in the show, The Walking Dead evolved into something entirely different from what it initially set out to be. While this transition was fairly well executed and left little room for criticism, I still frequently have to remind myself this is The Walking Dead. To me it feels The Walking Dead became the definition of "different isn't bad, its just not the same."

To me the show was ok and I understand they had to tell a big story in just 6 episodes but it just felt so rushed especially the ending of it. I just hope we don't see anymore spin offs for a while I just fanchise fatigue is just setting in for me I just felt bored watching the show tbh but it was nice seeing Rick again though. Im so fucking mad they didnt use the commonwealth in this show. The whole plot is them trying to spare alexandria yet they dont mention once that the main group from twd is now at charge of a SUPERCOMMUNITY with an army just like the crm. They dont need to keep it hidden they could literally fight head to head. Had me boiling

Absolutely love your recaps! Just one tiny note for this one though- at 1:01 you said 'Rick's bold escape attempt gets the attention of Lt. Colonel Okafor.' That's not entirely accurate. Rick had been on Okafor's radar from the moment he arrived and was listed as a type A. Okafor was the only reason Rick, despite being a type A, was allowed to live. Okafor kept trying to recruit Rick into the CRM but Rick kept declining. There was also this little exchange with Esteban(Rick's friend who was moving up to the city) after Rick cuts his hand off where Esteban thought Okafor's plan to recruit Rick would definitely now be over in light of Rick's new-found handicap but Rick tells him Okafor still wants him to join. 😂
