It's just too hard to predict, because Simon is a psychopath, and there's so many ways it could've went, he either exterminates the coalition and expands to ''save'' other communities, and i could see them going the long run, who could stop them? Maybe the Commonwealth, the CRM wouldn't care about such a ''small'' problem, or Simon does bad decisions and the coalition wins earlier than in canon, i see the rest of the show going about the same, but they'd have to find another way to end the whisperers.

If Simon made it out of season 8 I think he would eventually be stopped by the whisperers. He would definitely not stay of their way and would start a war and lose it.

i wouldn't say dead city didn't happen or even the Daryl show i just think they would be very different because Maggie originally wanted to go and find other people and Genet would still be doing her variant operation, also you forgot one small detail the survivors would have a lot of dynamite because Rick wouldn't shoot it to blow up the bridge so that would deal with the whisperers quick once they found out where they were

Yeah the events would still happen but none of the leads would be involved. Oh I did forget about the Ton of dynamite they had. Rick would definitely blow up a big chunk of the whisperer hoard if it stayed useable over all the years.
