I hadn't realized that the commercial DVD release of this edited out Pete Renedout's introduction that begins the film. What always made this program great for an impressionable child like me in the late 70s was how it reinforced things I'd read about Walt that were in all the bios in the children's section of the school libraries and it made me feel like "Oh yeah, I know what he's talking about". To assail a film like this for not being comprehensive or dealing with the warts as later day cynics would really miss the point.

I saw this when it had just opened at Disneyland in the summer of '1973. This is the first time I've seen it since then!

Walt was such an incredible man. The things he brought to fruition are just amazing to me. Just an example that if you put your heart and mind to it. You can do anything.
