Yet again we see that actors who appeared on The Waltons all had a great experience and were made very welcome. This is so wonderful to hear as it literally confirms that an excellent well rounded show had an excellent regular cast and crew to the point where I consider working on the show in any capacity is a badge of honour. Very heart warming to hear Deidre share these lovely moments with us. I have seen her daughter on a number of Netflix shows (mainly horror/scary) and she is a wonderful actor. Thank you Judy for this segment and best wishes as always from your waltonian superfan in a cold wet England😉

Enjoyed your interview very much, Judy. Thanks so much for sharing a little about your life and Walton's experience, Dierdre! You'll always be a favorite friend of John Boy's to all us fans! I can't believe the calendar is showing how close we are to the Christmas and New Year's, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa holidays! My birthday is in the line up too and I don't even want to think how many years I've been here. One thing is for sure and that is The Walton's and Mr Hamner and all of you actors added a lot of joy that is beyond me to explain. May you enjoy lovely holidays and blessed times with your loved ones! ❤💚✨🎄🙏🕊️

@judynorton2598 Ha! The 20th! You have an expensive December with two birthdays and Christmas! And some people (we won't say who) thought the week before Christmas was also a good time to get married! Christmas weddings are so pretty after all! Ha! Nevermind having to shovel your driveway in a wedding gown! 🙃 They still had Cinderella Hairspray in those days, so that helped! You could glue loose shingles on the house with that hairspray! Ah! The romantic notions of youth! 🤍✨💐🕊️

Deirdre's character can be attributed to saving Mary Ellen's life due to her identifying the addiction before a disaster could have happened. To get an idea how easy it can be for audiences to blur a character versus real life, I thought you were going to thank Deirdre for saving your life in this interview. I had to slap myself back to reality. 😉

I enjoyed her on the Waltons. I was one of those who would have liked her to marry John boy. Judy, thanks for pointing out that actors can have a life/ career besides acting. Sometimes, we who watch forget that and put you on pedestals. Often, I wonder how you all can do what you do. Any kind of acting is a gift that takes a lot of dedication and hard work along with talent. Once a job is done , you move on to another, not knowing how that may work out. Hey for once I was one of the first hundred here to watch this. I gotta say, I could never be an actor. To me it requires such discipline, It would literally be overwhelming to me mentally. Having to look good everyday, to counter that with life and your emotional state at any given time. Then to have to appear in a character form, and place life aside for that moment in time. I just couldn't do it mentally. I'm not a person that can just switch on and off, I guess that is what I'm trying to so say. Did that make sense? I hope it did. To me,, some days I get up and I'm like mirror bound, to brush my teeth, dry my hair after a shower etc. Some days, I look okay others I look like terrible. I know makeup comes into play but still, it has to be very demanding upon one. Now behind the scenes, I'd be fine, and it's much as am in life. I loved "Stargate"!!!!!!!!!!!!! What episode if you remember. I'd love to watch it. This was another great interview. Truly enjoyed it.............💜💙💚💛🧡❤
@judynorton2598Ай бұрын
I understand what you mean - it’s not for everyone. The pressure to try to look good and to know you’re being judged all the time is tough. I even look back at some of these KZbin segments and think “oh gosh, I was having a really bad hair day” or the lighting was so unflattering! But, figure, these are meant to be about real life - and I don’t always look great. As for Stargate it was “In the Line of Duty” when Samantha Carter gets taken over by a Gao’uld.

I have noticed a few discrepancies in some episodes. In the lost sheep, when Olivia and John leave the house to go to the Baldwin house to find Erin Olivia is wearing a beige print dress, in the car she's wearing a blue dress, when she enters the Baldwin house she's back in the beige dress. Also in the episode when Curt & Mary Ellen are taking one of the Baldwins to the hospital Curt's outfit keeps changing from the hospital on the way home. I keep noticing that the furniture in the Walton's living room keeps changing and sometimes appear in other people's homes? Same with dinnerware.

Hi Judy,thank you for continuing your discussion with the talented Deirdre Lenihan. I added the word talented,as this was beautifully portrayed in her role as Daisy,but also in the series Needles and Pins. I mean I didn't see it,but thanks to Wikipedia you discover these things. She was on the cover of tv guide, and was in a regular cast with Bernie Kopell and Norman Fell,so that says a lot. It's unfortunate that the series did not air that long,as you can imagine how much more she could have done for that show. But that's one of the toughest parts of the business,is it not? You just don't know where opportunities will present themselves,and talent and tenacity, notwithstanding,you still also have to live your life and pay the bills.

Nice conversation with Miss Lenihan. Yes, that was interesting how Daisy HAD been considered to become a semi-regular character but for Miss Lenihan fessing being in the family way to Mr. Hamner (who gave a cute joke after her decline). It was odd that after Daisy connected the dots re Mary Ellen's amphetamine addiction that the last scene she had was at Mary Ellen's nursing school graduation (oddly Mary Ellen had DONE nursing for quite some time before the ceremony- oh well). I'd like to think she may have struck a good conversation with a professor at that school and maybe it wound up they got married and he adopted Melissa before possibly having more children together. Anyway, it good to hear from Miss Lenihan and how proud she's become of her own family. I also liked that she had admiration for Miss Learned and considered Mr. Waite (who she knew) and Mr. Geer her heroes! Yeah, considering how Olivia flatly refused to even MEET Daisy after John Boy ending his participation in the dance marathon, for her to decide to befriend Daisy after Daisy returned the ring and DEFEND Daisy's child against Corabeth's smallminded pettiness demonstrated growth on BOTH Olivia's and Daisy's parts. Thanks for this!

Dierdre's such a delight! I think I smiled throughout the entire interview. Such a varied career she's had from child actor to prop lady to wardrobe lady to the Waltons to the PTA. She's so grounded & has a great family life too. Thanks so much for sharing & brightening my day!

I've never once seen you not look good and that is the truth!!!! I'm not saying that to make you feel good, it's the truth. You were literally made for the camera. Now you know I have no reason to say this other than it's what I see, and my eyes do not lie. Thanks for that episode of Stargate. I'll be sure to watch it. 💜💙💚💛🧡❤
