@@delip9303 When I was real little, we had 2 calves, and they told us the girl was my older sister's and the boy was mine. I remember helping to give them their salt and watching them in the pasture. My sister gave hers the name Lucy, after Lucille Ball on television, but I don't remember naming mine. Anyway, they just disappeared, though I can't remember a time we noticed. Maybe we were told the truth, that they were sold, but certainly not told to whom or for what they were sold.

You're spot on about the peacock. When my 4 children were small, I could sit in their midst and read a book while they were screaming and carrying on at play like children do. Before my daughter went off to college, we adopted 3 rescue cats. She named two of them after Walton critters. One proudly claims the name Reckless, because he is a goof, and you never know what he is going to do next! The other one was so afraid and timid when we got her she hid for over a month, only sneaking out of her hiding spaces in the dark of the night to eat, not trusting a soul. We named her Chance because we wanted her to give us a chance to love her. She eventually did come to trust us and is doing great in her forever home with us. Reckless is doing well also. We always enjoyed the episodes with Maude and that goat, Myrtle!

Coincidentally I saw the episode this morning about the hunt where the bear attacks John and John Boy then kills it. I thought to myself then I’ve gotta ask Judy about the bear. I know it was real and I know bears are trained a lot for movies but was wondering how Ralph Waite felt about wrestling with a live bear! Yes, so many animals for sure...they’re quite amazing. Also, the family cow pet, Chance. So this was interesting...thanks Judy. ❤️

Wow. Grenada. Been there, done that place. Wasn't anything close to a vacation, though.... On a lighter note: I love animals, so this segment was particularly heartwarming for me - especially the story about the little porcupine! I believe they are nocturnal and their vision is limited during daylight. Your heel probably substituted for its mom's hind leg and was probably used by the little guy for security as well as navigation! Speaking of wranglers, I actually knew of a prop animal trainer out in Calabasas that was closed down for cruelty/poor condition issues but can't for the life of me names or details. Wonderful segment, made my day!

@@judynorton2598 Same. When I was on the job, that was on of the three things I gave no quarter on - child abuse, spouse abuse and animal abuse. You took a ride with me to jail. The county I worked was a poor county, and we had more than a few cases of neglect, especially horses and mules...I used to haul bales of hay in my patrol Bronco a lot of times on my own dime to try and stave off malnutrition. Other times, I had to get a seizure warrant and a trailer. Sad all the way around...

I have three questions: First, are any of the blooper reels that you've mentioned available for you to show us? Second, what is the wooden structure immediately behind the fireplace in the Walton house? It appears to be pentagonal-shaped. Sometimes it has a calendar on it. It's too short to cover a chimney pipe and seems out of place. Was it something moveable so that camera shots could be taken from that direction? Third, could you explain how contracts and pay worked for The Waltons? Not necessarily for you specifically, but that whole subject is quite a mystery to people not involved in the industry. Thank you so much for each video - the memories and explanations that you share are always interesting!

@@marymulrooney1334 oh l thought that the dirt always made it look so real to life. My Grandparents on my mothers side had a large family like the Walton’s family. But my Grandparents had 16 children and most were born in the 1930s. Being that most woman had good sized families back then there was a huge amount of time spent on just preparing three meals a day. Can you imagine the cleaning up afterwards alone?! Wow!… my Grandmother was my hero. And then there was the laundry and the bathing of the children. In those days most people had outhouses and no hot water heater’s. At least that’s how it was for my Grandma. She had to heat huge pots of water on the stove to clean and wash all she had to do!!! Needless to say or maybe not so needless because you don’t seem to understand how difficult it was for a mother to keep a house clean back in those days. I’m sorry but I couldn’t be more proud of how hard my Grandma had it and how well she took care of her family even if there was dirt around the light switches wainscoting and floors!!!! She was and still is a super hero in my book!!! Always will be DIRT N ALL!
