Omg, thank you so much! I just started taking adult ballet lessons for the first time in my life and we are learning this step. I was so confused with the turn! You explained this step so well and it helped you faced the back of the camera. It finally clicked! Yay! 🤗

So happy to help - sometimes a different view is all it takes to help something click! Keep up the great work! Happy dancing ♥️

Fabulously explained to cope with the confusion an adult brain has with this. The adult brain learns differently and keeps presenting itself with doubts and questions. It took me ages to grasp this a few years ago and I kept googling for videos to demonstrate, I wish you had been around then, you explained everything so clearly. Thank you. 😀

Thanks! The updated waltz turn video with the view shot from behind is great. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIuxkomarMl-fKs Given that it’s a waltz step, where the musicality calls for a [STRONG-weak-weak] pattern of emphasis, I found it easier to learn to feel the groove (and thus move in accorDANCE with the pulses of the rhythm) using Counts: “and_a ONE two three and_a FOUR five six; and_a...” vs [Step-brush Step Step] where - count three is an Inward Pivoting Half Turn-while-Stepping - count four is a brush backward - counts five and six are Outward Pivoting Quarter Turns-while-Stepping, or count five is an Outward Pivoting Half Turn-while-Stepping and count four is a forward step

It is definitely a tricky step! Around 5 minutes in, I do switch to film from the back view so you can follow along from behind me like you would in class!
