Good looking game. At 73 I'm running out of time to learn and play more monster games! Wi Vietnam 65-75 and Pacific War underway I'm worried about finishing those!😅. Thanks for the episode.

Oh, I'm confident that you've got plenty of years left to knock out these monsters, I'm counting on it! Keep us posted on Vietnam and PW progress, those are two time intensive games for sure!

Looks very interesting with a lot of potential. Massive rules coverage looks like a WiF CE cognitive load. Thanks for the vid! Nice job!

There's a lot in there for sure, a game that will likely be best served alone on the table for a while for most people.

I love the fact you show the maps i never buy a game if i do not like the map

Agreed on the importance of showing maps, I always do my best to show them even if I can't fit both in the frame at once I'll just show them individually.

It's definitely more than a steak-umm. lol Same here, need to clear time and the table to be able to dedicate it for this. Ernie will be at Expo, so that would be a good time to give it a whirl.

This game looks interesting and promising so probably will purchase that and it's expansion. Even I have played lots of 2nd World Wars games they have been PC games. I bought just recently board game about subject, GMT's The Supreme Commander World War II in Europe, 1939-1945. Even it is good and compact it is quite simple comparing games like this. I am ready and willing to play game which offers even more strategic options to think. TW seems good compromise on scale and complexity. More detailed games would be too demanding and time consuming for me. Commanding every division and brigade of WWII is just too much. TW is my choice and Unconditional Surrender! World War in Europe looks so elegant so maybe getting money enough for those gems is possible soon.

Looks great, but I want solo mode! :(
@MoesWargames
@MoesWargames 2 жыл бұрын
It's solo playable, just play both sides as we always do with wargames. A game this big would be very difficult to create any type of bot for I think. And the effort to both create and use a bot would be far longer than actually playing both sides.

ai shoulnt be impossible to create. maybe needs a supercomputer to run though
@MoesWargames
@MoesWargames 2 жыл бұрын
@@eriksaari4430 maybe not impossible, but mostly impracticle to design for low return. Nearly everyone who plays wargames just plays both sides, or play against a human opponent on vassal.

have both, they do things unique enough to own both.

This video does not compare the two games, so your comment is out of context and unhelpful. Post a link to your video comparing the two games (got one?)...explain your obvious bias 😀
@MoesWargames

I have both and see no reason to not own and enjoy both. They're similar in scope yet do things differently. Plus, this one has the advantage of matching up with The War: The Pacific to cover the whole war if that's a goal you and a group have. Always great to have options!
@ardwulfslair

I like a lot about Unconditional Surrender; the core mechanisms are exceptionally well-done. And unfortunately, there's some stuff I don't like, including the diplo system and the play time that's really quite a lot longer than it should be, given the relatively streamlined mechanics.

@@ardwulfslair yes, good evaluation, I used to like US as well but didn't like the monotonous tracking of resource expenditures for movement and air/naval readiness. The cumbersome need to cycle the planes back and forth from Poland in the early war was also annoying. But if anything, it looks like tracking and record keeping in The War: Europe is far worse and exacting. One other point about US, it's geared to an historical outcome to the point of being too much so, even if the Soviet Union is conquered twice!

Amazing eh, the Russian army was once feared, and could kick ass. Now they can't find their ass with both hands :) I'm sure this board game will be just fine, don't worry about me :)
