My parents are 65/70, the other day I introduced to the war on drugs. Last night I found them curled up on the couch together listening to this song. Good music is timeless and knows no bounds!!!

Interesting. Years ago, I played Strangest Thing in the car on a road trip. Days later I walked by my 13-year-old son’s room and to my surprise he was playing it over and over. True, good music touches us all. And this song is great! Unlike anything I’ve heard before. Huge fan of this band.

Bless you and your beautiful boy, I remember all to well how I looked over my shoulder to my baby boy on the back seat. 18 years later he introduced me to the war on drugs when we drove down lake Garda in Italy after a kitesurfing session. I found this song (and album) a few nights ago while on a mushroom trip laying down thinking about my life and the existential crisis I seem to be going through as I approach 40. All the ways I’ve been so selfish as a person and lacking as a husband. This entire album (especially In Chains & this song) made me see my life through different eyes and I wept. Not for myself but for my wife, for us… for the distance that has grown between us. I grew comfortable in that space and I hadn’t realized how lonely she must be. But it also gave me hope and the clarity to know the path forward to show love unconditionally and unselfishly. If I could take one song with me when I die it will be this one. This album is absolutely perfect. Thank you Adam. 🙏🏼

@@kathleenbarber9677 Respectfully, you could not even begin to understand all the reasons why I decided to take those journey's (which were btw not for recreation reasons) even if I had to explain it to you in full detail or how immensely it has benefited me in a psychological & spiritual sense, and that's perfectly alright. Just the same, I cannot possibly imagine what you would need or not need even if I knew you. Be well.

I have never found another band where-- each time I listen to one of their songs-- I say to myself 'No, THIS one is the best I've heard!' I can CERTAINLY say that about this band. This is one of the more beautiful pieces of art ever created. The lyrics: 'But I ain't got everything I need If I'm just living in the space between The beauty and the pain'... Are hauntingly true. I can find myself, lose myself, then find myself all over again when I listen to The War on Drugs.

Amazing to me how each instrument on even his previous album was able to carry the melody and then bring the song to a point where they all just crash and blend together - to the point where the instruments are literally arguing for who is going to get it next, bringing the song to this chaotic level while still being able to blend the sounds and carry it out into an outro. This guy is one of the greatest composers in the industry today. TWOD reminds me of that angst of Mellencamp, Dylan, Young, and Petty rolled into one - TWOD will stand the test of time; music like this is timeless,

After I heard this song for the first time, I was MIND-FUCKING-BLOWN. There were tears streaming out of my eyes, I was hyperventilating, my spine was tingling like no tomorrow... I felt like I'd been reborn, like everything that had ever happened to me before then had just ceased to exist and my life had reset completely. It actually took me a while to get back to feeling normal again, but I didn't care at all. When a song does that to you, you have to treasure it until your very last breath.

It is incredible what music can do in the hands of such talented people, I have been following The War on Drugs since 2016, I discovered them through a recommendation and from there I became a fan of them, this melody despite being several years old still It moves me a lot and calms me a lot, I suffer from anxiety and in my most difficult moments this band has accompanied me, I could say without a doubt that The War on Deugs has saved my life sometimes, for this and more I will always be grateful to carry a little piece with me from The War om Drugs.
