Interesting. Years ago, I played Strangest Thing in the car on a road trip. Days later I walked by my 13-year-old son’s room and to my surprise he was playing it over and over. True, good music touches us all. And this song is great! Unlike anything I’ve heard before. Huge fan of this band.

I found this song (and album) a few nights ago while on a mushroom trip laying down thinking about my life and the existential crisis I seem to be going through as I approach 40. All the ways I’ve been so selfish as a person and lacking as a husband. This entire album (especially In Chains & this song) made me see my life through different eyes and I wept. Not for myself but for my wife, for us… for the distance that has grown between us. I grew comfortable in that space and I hadn’t realized how lonely she must be. But it also gave me hope and the clarity to know the path forward to show love unconditionally and unselfishly. If I could take one song with me when I die it will be this one. This album is absolutely perfect. Thank you Adam. 🙏🏼

Amazing to me how each instrument on even his previous album was able to carry the melody and then bring the song to a point where they all just crash and blend together - to the point where the instruments are literally arguing for who is going to get it next, bringing the song to this chaotic level while still being able to blend the sounds and carry it out into an outro. Steve Vanbilllemont They are more ethereal than CCR. A little bit Dylan, a little bit Henley, a little bit Pink Floyd, a little bit of everything.

I first heard this song when I was floating in my boyfriend’s pool with a margarita in hand & the music flowing through the outdoor speakers. I remember thinking to myself, if I could stay in this moment forever I would. Perfect day, perfect music & with my love. That was over 7 yrs ago & everytime I hear this song it takes me back. Thank you ❤❤❤

It is incredible what music can do in the hands of such talented people, I have been following The War on Drugs since 2016, I discovered them through a recommendation and from there I became a fan of them, this melody despite being several years old still It moves me a lot and calms me a lot, I suffer from anxiety and in my most difficult moments this band has accompanied me, I could say without a doubt that The War on Deugs has saved my life sometimes, for this and more I will always be grateful to carry a little piece with me from The War om Drugs.

When I first heard this I confess I wasn't a huge fan. Now I've been listening to it for 9 solid months I think it's one of the greatest songs in the world ever. Sublime.

Holy hell, that whammy in the solo….it’s like he somehow figured out how to literally put the anger and heartache into that one moment….like I can picture him in the studio, and that thing just popping right off….and the producers like….yep.We got it lol. Goosebumps every time.

The repeated melody, over different instruments and with them all together, during the coda is so incredibly uplifting.

I can't even describe the emotions I feel when listening to this track. I'm happy and sad at the same time. TWOD just gets better every time I listen to them. I think "A deeper understanding" is going to be another masterpiece.
