May be musharaf was thinking that this war will be not more than few years and we will get out of this. But this war destroyed us as long as it speads. Iran is facing sanctions since 40 years . It depends on you . You destroy your public by poorty or by doing war or by doing compromise with others. If we face sanctions from 20 years same economy and poorty result we will have . Sanctions may go longer as irans have since 40 years. If you have three choice. Kill your public of poverty by sanctions on you, kill your economy and enlarge poverty, or compromise with them to take part in our war to eradicate terrorism and have some Aid . You would definitely think to save your country from sanction and destroyed economy and will help that super power. It is another topic that they give little aid or cheat us but you will not allow you people to destroy them by poverty. May be at that time musharaf stand with them because of such prblms but it not worked for him as he thinked. Iran is facing 40 years sanctions and our 1 rupee is equal to 580 irani curruncy. Now think about the sanctions and there consequences.

Wow, well the for debate, especially Ms. Graffy, did a fantastic job on making it a coherent and reasoned response. The others? Well, emotional and political talk with little to back it up. If you came to watch this without any bias in mind, then tell me which debate was reasonable one? I am usually a big U.S. critic and I've been more on the left side for a long time but now I am actually learning about politics, international relations, and trying to use my reason rather than emotions to think about these issues and I am changing my mind about what was the best and/or unavoidable decisions.

Aori Hanazari I listened to this on podcast (better if you don't get their faces I feel), went in trying to be as unbiased as possible and I have to completely disagree. Pervez Musharraf won me over and I understand where he is coming from, and ultimately I side with the other two that the *war* on terror, especially with regards to Iraq, was abhorrent and ultimately sowed more discontent and destabilization. I know several people that study IR and it seems to be pretty well understood that US actions helped extremism thrive and made the ability to turn war in the middle east into West versus Muslim states. but ms. Graffy said several things that were political pandering and eventually in the questions was plainly disingenuous. Plus there was a lot that I have found out about the Iraq war (and that has been declassified since) that was not in this debate To be completely honest, this was one of the worst IQsqurared debates I've listened to. Partly because of the bickering and lack of depth gone into the topic, partly because the chair clearly had a very biased view, maybe partly because they all had a bit of an agenda I did really like Musharraf's comments near the end of the questions session

first of all i am a great supporter and fan of musharraf, i think , from what i have studied about musharraf is that he always supported the action against terror but he never supported military action, he was against the wars in iran iraq but supported the war against targeted terrorists and his partner in this panel was almost against his point of view therefore he mostly remained quiet and did not argue and also defended pakistan when it needed

The buildings were brought down by controlled demolition in my opinion. You just have to ask yourself what happened to WTC 7 which collapsed, at free-fall speed, into its own footprint without any plane flying into it plus these were metal frame buildings that were DESIGNED to withstand impact from aircraft without falling.

After October 07 it feels like no one has the decency to debate and discuss like this anymore. It's just misinformation and "my word against yours" type stuff. While I tend to agree with General Musharaf on most things, I feel like the reason they lost the vote in this thing was because him and his partner were sort of saying a "well if we did everything right and moral and didn't to the bombing of civilians/torture it would have been fine" type of approach, whereas the opposing party were highlighting actual mistakes that were made and saying that if this was the response, then the response should not have occurred.
