The Warlord Awaji Playtest Is Really Fun!

Why hello there!
While minding my own business last night I received a email that Warlord Awaji's playtest was available of course I dived right in and had such a good time with it I had to make a quick video sharing the glory of this upcoming open world sandbox game.

Please note this is a playtest for the game there is a demo coming out that might include the core gameplay mechanics but as for now we have access to try out this instant action battle mode.
How to gain access follow the link to the steam store page and you should see below the video/picture section a green box saying play the Warlord: Awaji playtest simply request access and you should be able to download the game after a short wait

Love this game so far cannot wait for the full thing! I have reached out to the devs but hopefully we can play some more of this with the demo release in a few weeks. Oh also note this is not a return to the main channel games like Bannerlord are super rare so of course I had to make a video on this as soon as I could! As for defensive combat. I am experimenting with a "perfect block" mech which may be interesting!

As for the colors, yeah I am working on some improvements! Like an indicator on the cursor.

Something I like from Bannerlord for instance is the floating banner icons above allies heads though if you do not like that feature it was possible to turn it off and even effect is opacity to suit the players needs.

@@ThreatX Yeah, I don't like in-game-world UI elements. Breaks immersion! But imagine in campaign you will get to know your friendly clan colors, it won't be an issue.

Ahh yeh if we have our own clan colours I imagine it would be easy to figure it out at that point

Xp bonus for winning could be good! Only thing is I don't want it to be farmed like setting one ticket and repeating it.

Oh that is a good point I was just using the same settings but nothing stopping people doing a series of 1v1's I know its just a playtest but if it is easy to do you could have increased xp % for multiple wins in a row (then it can not be exploited too much) or might be fun a mini rogue like system where the battles get harder as you keep winning (Enemies have more armour on average ect). Regardless I know the instant actions is just a bit of fun (reminds me of running with rifles) to show off combat I cannot wait until we can try out the full campaign mode keep up the good work.

@@ThreatX Yes, very inspired by Running with Rifles! Love that game. Right, I would need to make it pretty specific as to how you get that XP bonus. Maybe it counts your kills in the match and scales it from that.

I like how fluid the combat is, it's nice to see the AI seem to move around a lot and don't just try to get as close to you as possible like they do in Mount and Blade.

I would like you to show us the battle map with its systems. I understood that combat is interesting, but what about the rest of the systems? Can we recruit mercenaries on the map? Can we upgrade the character? Can we give it armor? Is there a story going on?

This is just a melee combat playtest! Those things will come in the campaign mode at full release!

I have no idea I did just try my controller that happened to be plugged in and nothing happened perhaps ask on the forms if it is a planned feature :)
