They’ve turned down multiple label offers for the exact reason you hit on. With their Lava contract they have 100% creative control and fight hard to stay true to their values. These ladies are blazing their own career path that so far has steered clear of the all to common rock and roll pitfalls. Those are just a couple of the reasons The Warning Army is so loyal to them.

Other labels wanted them to change their music and how they dress. I can only guess what that meant, but we clearly have the same suspicions. They're very elegant, even formal, in a metal style here, in their dress, instruments, accessories, and even motions (not to mention the most important of all, the music!). I'd compare that to Ella Fitzgerald or Wynton Marsalis, suitably adjusted for genre. Pau looks especially refined without being theatrical in her playing of the big fill between the second verse and chorus. There's a behind the scenes video, where there's someone with a cloth polishing Ale's bass between takes. That Spector is a magnificent instrument fully deserving of that kind of attention. I'm sure Dany's guitar received similar treatment.

This band is about respect. They respect the music, and the process. They respect us, the fans. Most importantly they respect themselves. You touched on it in your analysis. Too many bands lean on things that are not going to last, or are superficial. The Warning are all about substance. Here it is, like it or not. They are not going to do things that cheapen the music, or distract from it. They are great examples, and wonderful ladies. Pure class.

Jim, on September 10th Metallica is releasing a 7 LP or 4 CD set called Black List because of the 30th anniversary of the Black Album and 53 Artists are going to sing their version of the songs of the Album and The Warning are going to be one of those 53 Artists they are singing Enter Sandman with Alessia Cara, and All Profits are going To Charity

Enjoyed your reaction and break-down of the performance. I think there are big times ahead for these gals. They were invited by Metallica to play a cover of Enter Sandman (the cover that originally got them noticed 7 years ago) with Alessa Cara for the forthcoming Metallica Blacklist album. They will also be one of the acts opening for Metallica on the final day of the Welcome to Rockville Festival at Daytona in November. TW fans are just dying for them to release the rest of their new album and get back on the road touring!

They refused offers by record companies, because the companies wanted to changed them. They negotiated for seven months with Lava Records before signing. They wanted to keep they rights to all the music they had already done. They got it.

I love this song because of the visuals as well as the epic sound, with all the dark contrast Dany's red lipstick really sticks out as a focal point of this video. A powerful haunting and chilling song filled with emotions. Now you can watch their Tedx videos to see that they have nothing but talent as musicians. What your not seeing here is the live version from their cave (basement) Ale does some singing, a rare treat.

You can thank David Bendeth for the recording and mixing. He produced The Warning's third album which Choke is the first single. Dany, the lead singer, gave David notes during the mixing process after he has done the initial mix. Some songs from the album have been mix with no notes from Dany.

The way I read it was that they were not to interrupt the playback of the initial mix, but instead would take notes on any issues they had. They have very high standards and strong artistic vision, and David Bendeth has vast experience while recognizing that he in service to his artists' vision, There wss at least one song where Dany had no issues. A clip emerged from that process where Bendeth joked that he wanted it on record that Dany actually had no issues, so I imagine that there were songs where at least some of them had extensive comments. It looks like the whole process was intensely collaborative between the band and producer. They had had an earlier bad experience that...wasn't.

Start with Dust to Dust - another perk to watching this will be your introduction to seeing their drummer, Pau, sing lead vocals - and she’s a fabulous singer too!

That feeling of being "proud" of them, for lack of a better word to describe it, is exactly why I am such a fans of these girls. They are clearly very talented and creative musicians (I believe all 3 of them learned classical piano as like a 5 year old) - but listening to what theyre doing now... Its clear theyve come a long way, and Im just so "proud" of them for sticking with what they believe in. Even their first album, written and recorded when they were between 12 to 16 years old, is chock full of great tracks and great performances. Then their second album, being a concept album about the descent into murder madness - is awesome. And then you factor in it was mostly written by the drummer, who was 15 at the time. Its just absolutely crazy, and they deserve every ounce of success they achieve.

Every time I see this video I think about the first original song I heard them play. It was actually the second song all together. There was (then) 15 year old Daniela shouting the chorus of Exterminated. I thought this young lady likes to sing loud and hard. She's grown so much since then, but the talent was evident even then.

I love what you said about them not falling for the sex-appeal wardrobe trap. Through their eight year career, they have always worn age-appropriate clothing. Their song writing is tough, their jams are tough, but their clothes have always been decent and modest. Of course, their clothing matured along with them, finally, wearing very attractive garments in this video, but still age appropriate and modest. It's all about the music and the art of song writing - that's the most attractive aspect about these young women.
