You're right about the feel of their music. I was born in the 50s and grew up on classic rock. The first time I heard these girls I thought I was back in the good old days until I checked the release date of the video. I was stunned to hear old school rock. I listened to a few more songs and heard grunge, some metal, and with PSYCHOTIC they brought in a punk sound. Their sound is familiar yet unique. Love this band!

Having followed these awesome young sisters since mid 2015 I will finally have the great honor of meeting them this upcoming Sunday in Salt Lake City. I am so looking forward to experiencing them live as so many who have, especially old school rockers who have gone to many concerts in the past say The Warning produce a “Wall of Sound” and that they truly are the “best live band they have ever seen!” LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS aka THE WARNING!

They actually have three tours this year, plus various festivals. They're currently on their own headlining tour, then they're touring with Halestorm (they are huge fans of Lzzy Hale and vice versa) and The Pretty Reckless over the summer, and again with Three Days Grace this fall, in Canada. Ale (bass) does not like to sing lead, although she's perfectly happy to sing backing vocals and harmonies, and their harmonies and other multi-vocals are one of their great strengths. She has a nice voice, but does not have the power that Dany does. I don't recall whether you've reviewed Choke yet, but you'll see a sample of what she does there. Pau's a strong singer who does sing some leads, including on some heavier songs (Dust to Dust and Narcisista) in addition to ballads (The End, Black Holes), and she and Dany sing a number of split leads (Disciple, Sinister Smiles, Survive, Z). She has fronted a few times when they've joined forces with other bands (Eruca Sativa and Moderatto) and has a very powerful and charismatic presence when she does that. Dany, what more to be said about her singing? Power, range, charisma, emotion, control, constantly working on improving her voice, and she's blossoming into a top rock diva. And their lyrics are very thought provoking This song is growing on me and is now somewhere in the #2-#3 spot on the 7 songs so far comprising the third album

Ale is 17 and does not like to sing lead but has if Dany needs to rest her voice. Not the best of recordings but she sang Hunter when they opened for Stryper and Red Hands Never Fade at their 2nd sold out show at the Mercury Lounge in New York. That's where Jason Flom heard them which led to their record deal with Lava Records. As for Pau, yes she can sing lead but can't hit as high as Dany. Most of their songs begin with Pau writing at a piano and she intentionally considers their ranges as she is writing. She knows very well what range Dany can reach and tailors her songs accordingly. Dany has put in a lot of time expanding her vocal range and control over the years. Additionally, she is 22 so yes, her voice is a bit more developed compared to Pau at 20. Very few drummers have ever been able to sing a full show worth of songs, especially drumming as strenuously as Pau does. Pau is selective about which songs she will sing lead on and where. They are from Monterrey and have some problems when they perform at high altitudes. Most don't notice but places like Mexico City and some of the venues in Argentina are considerably higher than Denver. Lunario for example is at 7300 feet above sea level.

You hit the nail on the head with your observation of how they blend different rock genres into their own unique sound. What’s amazing (to me anyway) is how every song on their albums can have a different style, and yet still sound like The Warning. Enjoyed your reaction. 👍😎

I said it previously. I really enjoy your Warning reactions because you say exactly what you think. Most of the time it resonates with me because I think the same way about them, i.e. not constrained in their songwriting, retro and new/fresh at the same time, good blend of kind of blues, rock, hard rock with metal influence. There are songs which I think you haven't heard from them yet which also have elements of pop, punk and grunge. I really enjoy the fact that while they have quite an extensive catalogue already for their age in my view they have absolutely no filler songs. Of course I like some much more than others but usually when you go to concerts of bands you like there are at least a couple of songs that give you time for a bathroom break or to get a drink because they are meh, filler songs. Not with them. I've been looking at the set lists from their tour so far and there is not one song I would dare to step out on. They are all that good. I really enjoy this band.

Pau can sing! Her mic mix might not always be the best & not easy singing & drumming. She is a killer front woman too. See her jamming with moderratto. The jam with eruca sativa is fun to watch but the vocal mic mix is bad. Ale has a nice voice too but doesnt like singing lead. Been watching their performances from this year's tour & it sure is nice to see a band who can play their recorded material live. The thunder (Ale), the lightning (Dany) & the storm (Pau).

You'd get a kick out of the little pre-show clip of them getting ready to come on stage. They were literally shaking and Dany looked like she was about to panic. Pau didn't know what to do with her hands, so they all held hands for a bit, and as soon as they got the queue, they literally almost ran onto the stage and managed to switch to 'business' mode. They had never played a full stadium before where they were the center of attention (before the Foo Fighters of course). By the time they got through the first and second song, people in the front were really starting to respond and cheer, etc., and they knew it was going to be fine! They made a LOT of new fans that night in that crowd of 55,000+ people, all in around 40 minutes on stage.. and a fair portion of it was actually in the rain (although they were far enough back to stay dry). It actually added to the ambience of some of the songs, especially their ending number, Martirio.😍 There's several channels here on YT that caught the whole gig on video, so if you search a bit, you can find some great shots.😉 Great reaction BHM!😄👍 If you check their channel here, you should be able to find where they will be playing in the US and Canada over the next couple months. They have 28 stops in the U.S. alone! Most likely one near you, but you better grab those tickets, because a lot of places are sold out already.😮

I was in the room with them at the Portland concert last Friday night, got to meet them before the show. This may be the best concert video out there, shot at Foro Sol opening for Foo Fighters - however, it’s a very professional edit of the studio soundtrack over the concert footage to get the best possible sound. BTW, the guitarist/lead singer is Dany (Daniela), 22, the drummer is Pau (Paulina), 20, and the bassist is Ale (Alejandra), only 17 years old. I agree, this is currently my favorite song by The Warning, and I’ve been following them for eight years, ever since their iconic KZbin cover of Enter Sandman when they were 14, 12 and 9 years old, which prompted Metallica’s drummer to comment, “The drummer kicks MAXIMUM ASS!” That cover is one reason that Metallica invited The Warning to contribute a new Enter Sandman cover to the 30-year Anniversary Black Album release in 2021. About Pau, the drummer, she’s a GREAT singer snd carries the lead on a number of songs on all their albums, and it’s amazing how powerfully she sings while pounding that drumset to pieces - check out SURVIVE and DUST TO DUST as examples. She’s ALSO the primary composer of all three albums of their music, a true genius. Finally, their electric connection with an audience is amazing. I’ve absolutely loved their studio recordings and concert footage for years, although the concert sound was often not as good as so many of the videos were shot with fans’ cell phones. BUT… being in the same room with them?? OH MY GOD, this longtime fan was blown away by the sheer power of that experience! The sound was perfect, their playing was BEYOND perfect, absolutely flawless and intense throughout. It was like I’d never really heard those songs unfiltered, and the interconnections between the sisters, and Dany’s incredible energetic showmanship just pushed the experience far over the top of my expectations. Of all the concert experiences this 66 year old has had, ONLY seeing Stevie Ray Vaughn at close range in a similar venue even comes close. Grateful to have seen and met them, they’ll be playing arenas soon, and I still hope to see them up close with front row seats.

I enjoyed your reaction. I agree these ladies don't conform to formulaic song writing--thankfully. Their variety of music styles keeps their music refreshing and interesting. I always shake my head when I see comments regarding the ladies not conforming to someone's idea of what rock music is supposed to sound like, such as The Warning needs a rhythm guitar and a lead guitar, or they need another guitarist so Dany only has to focus on singing, or a guitar solo is required. I'm glad the ladies didn't get (or read) the memo that they are breaking the rules and need to get with the program.

It's a great song not that they've done anything bad in a very long time. I don't think it's groundbreaking for them, but it's very solid and up to their very high standards. As for your question the sisters won't be idle long. They're set to open for Halestorm and the Pretty Reckless. Great reaction! (Addressing the vocals Pau and Dani were about on the same level though very different sounding a few years ago. Pau does have a very strong formal kind of voice. But it's notoriously hard to drum and sing at the same time. Dani's voice on the Mayday project has improved substantially. Ale the bassist IS capable of lead type vocals, but she seems to prefer sticking to bass and backing vocals both of which she excels at)

Dude you wrong about paulina, the drummer, get the name straight, she has a great voice, and no she doesn't struggle at all, if that was the case, a bunch of voice teachers that reacted to her singing would of said so, but they only had praise for her, and how she control her voice, her drum teacher, was teaching her how to breathe and play at the same time, since the beginning, at tge age of 6 or 7, now, in some concerts they were playing at a high altitude town, where the air is thin, but even that was impressive... want to see her range in voice, go react to paulina's cover of the song Creep, she's playing the piano.. and she kill it.... your criticism maybe, because your preference of Dany, but all 3 girls are very good at what they do, even Ale when she's singing lead, o yeah, she sings lead on 3 songs, when Dany wasn't felling well, even you can see she was a little shy, she still did a great job...

@@g.garcia7151 I agree. Pau is an awesome singer, but her vocals are higher pitched for the songs on the Mayday EP. They sound good in the studio versions, but they don't blend well with Dany's voice in some of the live versions I've listened to. Her harmonies for "Money" are lower pitched and sound awesome. Ale has the lower harmonies on the Mayday EP. She sounds great, but I wonder if she shouldn't be doing high harmonies. She certainly did a great job with them on QOTMS.
