This song has to be taken in context with where it fits into the theme of the story. The mood is melancholic because the protagonist ( queen ) is dying. If you listen to the album from start to finish, it bears resemblance to a Shakespearean tragedy. It's a simple 4 chord song, but the genius of the song ( and album ) is its storytelling. Paulina's masterpiece.

@thomasmalatesta7331 ... Your comment was spot on! Too many of these "re-actors" only react to these songs to draw in Warning Army fans so they can increase their subscribers! It's should also be noted that these girls composed, wrote, and produced this album when they were 12, 14, and 17! Many of these "re-actors", overlook that fact or fail to do any research on the artists they are reacting to! What I find to be most amazing is that these ladies have opened for some legendary bands who have nothing but incredible things to say about this band. Those same bands talk about the level of skill in the musicianship, their showmanship, and the energy that they bring to the stage, each and every time they play! Maybe it's time to start reacting to the "re-actors!

No pitchforks coming but here is a fun fact. This song is Paulina’s masterpiece. Paulina put her heart and soul into creating it. Dany does not sing this song. I am glad that you got a chance to hear it. ✌🏿TWA4L

The 7,300’ elevation of Mexico City was the issue with the vocals. As far as Ale on keys, you saw her do the intro to Survive, speaking of which…patiently (not patiently) waiting for you and your wife’s reaction to that TW classic.

Agree Randy, not just the elevation. At this point Pau had been beating the drums into submission for 1 hr and 10 min while singling lead in two songs and backing vocals for all others except When I’m Alone. Finally, this was the very first time this song was played in front of a live audience along with the rest of chapter 4. Under these circumstances it was a great performance on my book.

Dany had already sung like 15 or 16 songs by this point. The high elevation of Lunario doesn’t make it easy for breath control but regardless Dany killed it during this show. Pau sang Dust to Dust to begin with and finished it off with The End. She may have sung another one but by this point they were already 16 or 17 songs down so considering that Pau did a great job too. Love the way Dany makes her Manson cry in this song. This solo although short is one of my favourites from them. Great reaction as always David 😊

I respect your opinion about harmonies. But I didn’t hear that. I really like that song, a great ending. Ale here just shy of 14y and performed like a pro. Dany’s solo too short, agree

Love when Pau sings, but for me the highlight here is Dany's performance on guitar. She played with a ton of feeling that gave the song a certain haunting atmosphere. Wish the solo was longer but everything Dany plays fits within the context of the song. And Dany's look at the end of the song, like she was transported away by the music and came back as the last note faded.

David, you really need to find the time to listen to this concert from the beginning with the songs in the correct order. This song is the culmination of a long story of longing for someone, descent into madness, finishing with the suicide of the person who has committed murder of the one she loved. Pau starts it with Dust to Dust and finishingit with this.

@@bigfan007 To an extent I agree, but if you take the final chapter out of a book, it will make little sense if you don't know the context of the story. This the final chapter of a Rock novel (called that by The Warning) and although it does stand on it's own, it makes far more sense as precisely that.

@@bigfan007 yes, totally agree - every song should be able to stand alone by itself, and if they are part of a concept album, they are just a sum part of the total. Each of the songs on this album could easily be a stand-alone number,if they weren't part of a concept album, and that's the great part of talented songwriting, and playing.

They also did an acoustic version this, which holds its own. The gals agree that Ale plays piano best, but that said, a number of their songs begin life with Pau writing a melody on the piano. Stay well!

Great reaction! I was a little shocked to hear that this song originally had a six or seven month wait, while still being relatively close to the front of the line; now I know you're busy, buuuuuuuuuut...nobody's gonna complain about a few more YTs a week. Just sayin'. 😉 Everyone wishes she had done the solo longer, no argument there, but it was actually a songwriting decision -- it's that way on the album, too. They won't do a solo just for the sake of a solo, no matter how much we wish they would; it has to fit the song, according to their standards of "fit'. Anyway, looking forward to the next one!

Hey David! "The End" is the emotional finale of the rock opera QOTMS and is the bookend "To Dust to Dust", the opening. Both songs are always performed by Pau, with Dany singing soaring vocals at their completions: bookends. The 3-part harmony "what have I done?" sounds majestic to my untrained ear.

That's a fair score David. This is Pau's song as she bookends the album with Dust to Dust and The End, notice that Dany sings the final notes of each song. This was the debut performance of the songs on Queen of the Murder Scene and was performed in Mexico City 2,240 meters above sea level and at 97 minutes was one of their longest shows with The End being the final song before an encore. The show where Dany was too sick to sing all of her songs was when the opened for Stryper and Ale and Pau helped out and sang a couple of songs each.

In other matter about the little Gene, I´m totally understand you, you can like Kiss or not, but you have to aknowledge that they are great performers, and Gene Simmons highlights above they partners, so, yes it´s a very good complement, at least for me.

Great job David as always. As a non musician the harmonies didn't bother me at all. You hear things that I don't (until you point them out). Sometimes you are a little bit like an artist pointing out " well Van Gogh is great but he used too much paint on his brush in this area, and he coulda used a more refined technique in this area." Others have mentioned the altitude and last song and such BUT it was also from my understanding, the first time they played the WHOLE album at once as they had released this album in the 4 chapters and also played some of their other songs in between. so very well done and you can really see that they love and enjoy performing. Im sure they also were getting used to dealing with their sound on such a long concert. anyways it would do you well to be able to listen to the whole album in sequence to follow the story and it might make more sense lyrically just my thought. good day bud

Just let me say this Everybody covered everything else in the other comments, altitude, end of concert etc. This was a concert album playthrough so yeah the ladies are tired, last song. Also concept albums are built around their standout songs with bridge songs, intros and outros. This song was meant to wrap it up, a tricky task especially with this album. 8.2 is about what I'd give it all qualications aside. Great reaction, more honest than most.

I think it's probably better overall you go into it blind, you pick up on things I'd always missed( like a certain ex wife of Jack White's inconsistent playing) The reaction channel I'm most often at does all his live stream with some input from the peanut gallery. Is that better? Sometimes if the peanut gallery is being unbiased and honest yes, and sometimes no. I think sometimes some background would help you but too much would confuse the issue. The way you do it works for you most of the time, I give it an 8.5, lol

David, great reaction. Pau always sings this one, it's the epilogue just like she handles Dust To Dust which is the prologue. Altitude was an issue for to the vocals, but the still performed beautifully.. actually in the whole set Pau only sings one song that Dany usually sings and that's Copper Bullets. I don't think it was that Dany wasn't feeling well...she just need a break after all the songs prior which was plenty by that time in the show. Really should check out the entire Lunario show. It was done the same day Murder Scene was released. All the songs are performed in order. They perform 5 other songs from their first album, XXI Century Blood, that they perform between each Chapter. A great show from beginning to end. Below is a link to the video To Warning posted of the compete show. First ten minutes is of them getting ready. But the show they do address the crowd in both languages. Worth the time as always. Hell, maybe a reaction would be cool. Maybe not an entire video of reacting to the whole show (Bit you know we'd watch it), but a quick review would be cool. Enjoy! kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4fGmohpnLKAi7s

I'm glad to see a lot of us are saying that that is a fair score, as normal I would go just a bit higher maybe a 8.4 or 8.5 but your score is not a bad score by any means. As for Dany's singing this is not her song to sing it's Pau's lead always, I think you are thinking about another show where Dany was sick and Ale sings lead on a couple of songs then to give her voice a rest. I see other have already told you that you have seen Ale on keys in Survive but it is easy to not remember every thing since it wasn't just a few days ago. They all can and do play piano in certain spot of their shows.

I do think of this song as kind of an 80s power ballad, although better than most of the ones of that decade. Dany here reminds me of Neal Schon of Journey. And I think one of Dany’s best strengths at guitar is being able to play radically different styles. Some guitarists have a distinctive style, but she’s more of a chameleon, fitting her playing to the song. All three of them are developing the skills of top session musicians, you could throw them in a studio for almost any style of artist and they would figure out what to do. Someday way in the future when they get tired of touring I have a vision of them setting up a studio In Monterrey and musicians would come there to be produced and backed by them (Dany and Pau definitely have producer ambitions; Ale might not have the personality for that but she has the instrument skills to just play bass. She has a great voice but I don’t think she’ll ever really want to do a lot of lead vocals)

Actually, it was the concert where she sang lead on Hunter when Dany had the sore throat, I think this was the debut of Queen of the Murder Scene album so jitters, this being the last song of a long concert and that Mexico city is at 7200 ft. altitude had more to do with any pitchiness . All three girls started on the piano. When asked who of the three is the better piano player both Dany and Pau point to Ale who started at 3 years old. Now I maybe off base on some of these facts but I'm sure my fellow TWA members will chime in. great review David, can't wait to see how you'll like the new album!

No. That didn't happen. Dany did not have laryngitis or a sore throat at this show. In fact, the few times when she has had to hand off singing duties, she mostly handed it off to Ale. But that didn't happen at this show. The only issue at this show was that it was performed at 7,380 ft. elevation. The air is thinner at a higher elevation. The effect of that is that it makes singing, and breathing, more difficult. So they did struggle a bit with the singing due to that. But Dany's voice was fine at this show. Now... let me go fetch my pitchfork.

Nope. You are misleaded by your memories. This has already been a Pau song, never intended to do the vocals by Dany. It's the last song on their CONCEPT album " Queen of the Murcer Scene" and is the final bracket around their CONCEPT master piece started with "Dust to Dust", where Pau is also singing lead. Probably it is not as good as a stand-alone-song, but in the context of storytelling it is so well done on pitch. It always reminds me in parts a little of The Cranberries's "Zombie". As far as I remember this was their last song of this concert played in the high altitude of Mexico City. You can see Ale also a little bit exhausted. Not easy to look fresh on stage and sing harmonies on pitch after a 17 song run under such circumstances. So David, give it another try for yourself and probably one day you will feel it is time to listen to the complete QTMS-Album song by song to see how mind blowing this CONCEPT album is written by the future of Rock'n Roll.

Thank you for your honest reactions. I love your little gene reference! I understand what you are saying about Dany's "rock voice" but I would recommend that you listen to her "non-rock" voice. She will from time to time post videos where she plays acoustic guitar or piano and sing in a sweeter voice non TW songs. Here is an example of that with her on piano: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoGxlIWarJmXrdU Keep up the great reactions brother! 🤘😎

A local DJ here in Toronto, who was a very popular area musician, said on Air to his fans before a reunion show... "I promise if you drink enough beer, it'll sound just like the album." He was right about that part, but when I heard the playback later on... Man did it Suck Big Time!!! lol By comparison, I'd say this live performance, was pretty darn Good... And I'm sure the folks that were in attendance probably though it was perfect!!! Thanks for your honest review David, looking forward to the next one! 🤘😎🤘

Good score - 8.2 (I knew it would be in the 8s). BUT HERE COMES THE FORK (pitchforks are way too big) - an excellent final track to an excellent album, when listened to in order, or viewed in order but reacting to just a 'song' without context does hurt if you don't think its good (or as good as others) since you have literally no point of reference (granted a good song should be able to stand by itself, but this is a concept album with a defined story). As a finale piece, this track is perfect (other comments have filled you in and this is my opinion) and sends you back to the start (Dust to Dust) just as Dust to Dust sends you to The End (very, very smart song writing) with everything in-between ('a constant loop inside your head' so to speak. You remember that Dany was ill (which is a good thing) but not at this concert, that was another on the QotMS trail - Lunario is 7300ft above sea level, and 18 songs in causes strain. AND it was also the 1st time performed live at the unveiling of the 4th Chapter. This is Pau's song to sing, like Dust to Dust is Pau's song to sing (the 1st and 13th song on the album), and Dany and Pau share vocal duties on the other 10 songs (Crimson Queen is also Dany's). Personally, them being off is a good thing - it shows they are live, and tired (especially Ale who was 13) - it shows they have given everything they could. I'm disappointed with the score, but also very understandable without knowing the complete story in order, separated by weeks or months of reactions to another part. AND - it is actually a very important song in the evolution of Pau (as a writer) and DPA as performers/artists. I sincerely hope that one day you take the time to just listen to the album (in order) or watch Lunario so that you can get that complete story and appreciate the work that they did as teenagers in writing a very adult album (I know you appreciate them as artists and writers, but in my opinion - this album is special). Anyway mate - Cheers from OZ and onto the next one 😀

You have seen Ale play piano before, on Survive (kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5vMoqyImZ2or6s). Although they're very different songs, both start with same introduction (Ale on piano, Pau singing). All three play piano in concert (Pau on Black Holes and Show Me The Light, Dany on Stalker) and Pau and Dany sometimes play piano on informal videos. As you haven't reviewed Show Me The Light or Stalker, I won't say anything more about those songs. Hard to argue with the score. Listening to your disclaimer I thought it was going to be lower, but 8.2 is on the low end of "great" on your scale, and this was certainly not perfect (as noted, it was near the end of a very long show at altitude); the low end of great fits it. It has always been one of my favorites, and I don't usually like ballads. Dany's solo is simply sublime. It perfectly fits the song, which more than anything is her style. It's also why I don't particularly like the acoustic version of this, since she can't play the solo on acoustic guitar. I think that a better acoustic combination for this would be a piano quartet (violin, violin 2 or viola, cello) or quintet; I think the solo would be playable on violin or viola. I do suggest that at some point when you decide you've reviewed all of the individual songs that you intend to, you go back and listen to the album as a complete work. While there isn't really any musical continuity between the songs, the story line's very strong and some of the songwriting and performance decisions will make a lot of sense in that context.

Borderlands 2 is still one of my favorite games of all time. The storyline, the script, the characters....it's just sooooo much fun. Tiny Tina and Mister Torgue are just absolutely 2 of the best characters ever created for any media, movies, television, video games, you name it. Their DLC's were both super fun as well.

What...!? This song is amazing! And breathtaking! (In my opinion ;) But really, it's one of my favourite TW songs. Kind of slow and dynamic at the same time. And as a song finishing the story-telling album it perfectly fits. BTW I think it was actually Pau who was indisposed here. If I'm not mistaken she had been food sick and I think she even was in hospital shortly before this show. And then the already mentioned high elevation, of course...

How can you honestly react to this vodeo when you didn't listen to the entire album? This is the last song in a concept album and IMO is a very fitting conclusion to the album, wonderfully written, sung incredibly, and performed masterfully!

@@THEDavidHeretic So what you're saying is your only reacting to the music ... not to the song. IMO the only way you could honestly react to the song is to understand the concept of the album ... realize that it's telling a story ... which without saying ... would require you to listen to all the songs before this one to understand the concept (it is a concept album after all) and how the final song (chapter? ... ending?) completes that concept.

I do not agree at all in the qualification. I believe that to make a judgment you should investigate the circumstances further so that you are in context. Unlike most here, this is not one of my favorite songs. Conceptually is a very cool album as it starts with Dust to Dust and The End both songs sung by Pau. It comes full circle, it is like an ouroboros, the alchemic serpent that devours itself.

Great reaction and fair score :) However totally wrong about Dani's singing - you are refering to an entirely different gig. So all your conclusions about "only 2 days to practice" can be scrubbed. In fact at this gig Dani sang the majority of the tracks (as she normally does). Pau always sings this song (she wrote it too)
