I’m late but also how he says “Maybe I’ll just take off” it implies he’s disillusioned with the gang life and presumably leaves the gang life behind to be with Mercy. Even in this scene he’s seen behind the rest of the gang holding Mercy’s hand, he’s not leading them anymore he already did his job bringing most of the warriors home and now he’s stepping down from command

Van Valkenburgh became irritated, because they noticed they had reached a point where they were out of the camera's range. But when they went back, they found out that the cast and crew had done this so they could bring out a huge bouquet of roses, which they then presented to a surprised Van Valkenburgh."

SEQUEL PLEASE... at least spiritual sequel in a futuristic era , with background story from this one.. that riffs deeply apologise and show respect for them.. all other gangs paying great respect to the warriors, as for rogues some of their turf now belong to the warriors as a vassal state or on acquisition status.. swan has been appointed as the leader.. until new story occured , A group of war veteran, crook polices and the gangs from neighbour city start a feud .., then some evil land developer and the businessman interfere before that, they should obviously rescue ajax from prison first, just like in the comic.. new york might be divided into 2 or 3 sides/factions of alliances.. while some gangs being neutral..including the warrior, but they reluctantly agreed to help one of the side because a matter involving mercy happened. ,some people from mercy's distant family involved in the conflict to start with.. the orphan, riffs , and saracen willingly support the warrior, they could add some internal conflict that happened in the riffs gang as the turning point.. sorry just saying my opinion.. since I never heard anymore the words about planned tv series

I have always loved the bittersweet ending from the DJ admitting it was a mistake that led to the death of several warriors to the reality that sometimes all we have to deal with our pain is a simple song about city streets and the hope for something or someone better; in this case, the blossoming love between swan and mercy. notice the look he gives her; uncertain, vulnerable but willing to risk his heart for her; the pride the remaining warriors show as they look towards the sunrise while remembering their absent friends basking in the sunlight crowned as heroes walking hopefully to a better future. this is all reinforced by the hopeful lyrics ending in a still shot of swan and mercy holding hands at sunrise; what was a story about courage, loyalty, friendship and loss ends simply with the love between two people and the hope love can bring in the city.
@mikekrause36713 жыл бұрын
yes i thought basically the movie at its core is about teamwork, friendship, survival . At the end the message is life can be more than you have now if you work and fight for it and there can possibly be a better future over the over the hills and on the horizon. i think there was no part two because The Warriors proved they were the best and the gang life was done for them, they moved on.............

I have a brief story about this. Some kid in some class in high school had taped something for a class. When that ended, part of the warriors was on the video tape after it, and the teacher let us watch it a bit. We were poor and did not have cable or a video tape machine, so I had to wait many years before I could finally watch it. So worth the wait :) One of the best movies from that era. The version of this film on Netflix almost feels remastered, for a film from the 70's it looks incredible.

Probably THE most fitting ending credit tune ever written. Sums the film up perfectly!

My dad liked this movie. He saw it at the movie theater. I was only 10 or 12 at the time so he didn't take me. I love this song and it makes me think of my dad. RIP Dad, love you always.

This black female DJ's lips was nearly copied in John Wick 4, which is OK by me a great Kianu Reeves fan. "The Worriors" was probably the best film directed by Walter Hill in his heyday, casting (not least otherwise hardly known Michael Beck as Swan, James Remar as Ajax, Deborah Gaye Van Valkenburgh as Mercy and David Patrick Kelly as Luther), cinematography, script, acting, music (including this Joe Walsh's masterpiece)...every aspect of this film was superb.

I agree; some heroes (or heroines) look ordinary, but they're not average:-)

Thank you for the great upload. I've only seen the original cut of this film once as a child, and ever since then I've only had access to the director's cut which completely removed this scene in favor a comic book page adaptation. I've always felt like there was much more to the credits of this movie, and I'm glad I finally got to enjoy it in its full glory. The Warriors is a fantastic film, however, director's cut or not.
