You can listen to a 1min version if you visit the Framus/Warwick youtube channel. The intro video shown there has this song as a backing track. Other than that, there is noc longer version available at the moment. Thanks for watching!

I read somewhere that the Pro Series Star was going to be demoted to Rockbass. Will this affect the bass at all? Or just the name?

I don't know why they have the same headstock on every bass they make. It doesn't go well with a lot of the basses especially this one.

Kind like a patent..I agree,as cool as these basses are,the headstock is HIDEOUS
@just.a.bolivian.dude.13905 жыл бұрын
I think the same...this one looks more clasic but the headstock is too modern
@rke4224 жыл бұрын
@Yu Suk Mi Hof Agree: it's the "kewlest" looking headstock out there! Perhaps it could be modified a bit for this bass, tho, while keeping the original shape & intent. Looks great on their acoustics, too!

Oh, I guess, that video is only shown to people who didn't subscribe yet. The YT terms of use mentioned something like this. Anyway, just search for a video called "Framus / Warwick KZbin Channel Intro"... Then you should be able to find it.

+Rj Bron There's a Rockbass version at around $1000 and a Pro around $3100 (4 string). This is a custom shop model. (you can see a lot of custom shop instruments from other brands and boutique brands going at or WAAAY beyond that price).
@rjbron30388 жыл бұрын
+Alex Rodriguez -- Alex, for this price you can have a Wal Fretless bass; it's the best fretless tone. The tone for the Star bass is good, but not at this price.
@alexrodriguez46438 жыл бұрын
I personally use a Pedulla fretless which I feel has the best fretless tone. It's all opinion based and I am very sure the video compression on youtube doesn't do this bass justice. Since I cannot feel the bass or go through the settings I cannot make a logical conclusion whether or not this bass is worth the money. But I am sure someone feels it is worth it.

Can somebody explain to me how a hollow body changes the (electric) sound of the bass? Except for stealing sustain/energy from the strings (from the pickup signal), I don't see any advantages.
@FraJa19807 жыл бұрын
The added resonance bouncing around in the internal sound chamber of a true hollow body affects the way the vibrations travels and reverberate trough the instrument thus changing the sound that goes trough the pickup as well resulting in a more "open" sound. Don't think it does that much on this one though, it's not a true Hollow-body as it has a centre block making it a semi hollow or basically a solid block with empty, guitar shaped wings on the side so i don't think it would matter that much if this bass was solid or not, well except for the weight obviously.
@vinigretzky977 жыл бұрын
hmm but the pickups can't pick up on how the air resonates inside the instrument, they can only pick up the string movement itself. do you have a video for me that makes the difference between true hollow and solid body obvious?
@FraJa19807 жыл бұрын
Indeed they can't but it does influence the way the strings (and entire instrument) vibrate due to harmonics created inside the instrument thus having an effect on the sound coming trough the pickup because the string vibration is different than it would be in a solid body. No i don't have a video but it's easy to explain, these semi hollowbodies like in the video have a solid piece of wood in the centre running the entire length of the body, a true hollow body would be just that..... hollow like an acoustic jazz guitar but with pickups. Basically.... on the semi hollows it's only the sides that are hollow and true hollows are completely empty.
@vinigretzky977 жыл бұрын
Ok, makes sense. Are there even "true hollow" electric basses?
@joacorodriguez34207 жыл бұрын
If the magnets "only" pick metal vibrations, there shouldn't be any difference between fretted and fretless basses... but.. it is the day and the night. About hollow bodies: Hofner Violin bass... I think Paul McCartney sound is quite unique... There a a LOT of hollow body basses. Very common 40 years ago. (electric bass designed to imitate double bass) Is true that a mag pickup only senses metal vibrations. Is also true that instruments with different woods, bodies,fretboards, etc... they all sound different. You might say similar, and I will agree to that. None of those hollow basses sound like an upright, (as many wannabe upright players says), but they sound nice anyway.

Are you serious with that EQ??! I know this bass can sound a little better.

What you see, isn't. Necessarily, what you get, with the Star bass 2. It. Sounds great, but looks as old as the hills. Normally whenever I pick up a vintage hollow, or demo hollow body bass it's an absolute toss of the coin how it's gonna play/sound. Normally they play/sound terrible, then need a shit load of work together em working.
