Actually, Bootsy refers to the star shaped bass we built for him as the "Space Bass". But thanks for checking out details like that!

I love this bass, but I'm getting a Corvette fretless (budget considerations)- the Warwick adjustment options are unparalleled! As I get older, I realize that a great sounding passive bass is fine- preamps are not mandatory- if you need boost, there are plenty of fine outboard solutions...

ok, imagine you select BOTH (sorry, there is no other way to highlight a single word in YT comments) pickups and then want to blend them with one having a bit more output than the other. That's what a volume knob allows you to do. Thanks for watching!
@FramusWarwickOfficial11 жыл бұрын
The point of the selector switch is, that you can select three positions: the front pickup only, the back pickup only and both pickups together. With a volume control for each pickup, you can blend them in various ways by choosing a different volume for each pickup. For example, you selected both pickups, but want a bit more of the neck pickup in the sound, then you just reduce the volume of the bridge pickup. Hope, this helps!

Is that neck as thick as the usual Warwick basses? I'd love to buy one but is tto painful for me to play Warwicks unfortunately...
@FramusWarwickOfficial11 жыл бұрын

Ooh, I want that! I have a star bass 5 strings. It sounds amazing. Too bad, the Thai distributor doesn't carry any fretless warwick that I could try out. :(

Did they change the construction of the bass? Previous description showed fully hollow body without the tone block. I am just confused?

Are there any models with signs for the frets?
@FramusWarwickOfficial11 жыл бұрын

I can't tell are those round wounds or flat wounds.
@st1tch878 жыл бұрын
+Neal Perrine Flat wound, you never really want to put rounds on a fretless it will chew the shit out of your fretboard.
@Finnvbot8 жыл бұрын
+Neal Perrine These are roundwounds, most likely stainless steel ones. It has the characteristic growl of a roundwound string. And the fretboard is made from ebony so it can take quite a bit of punishment. :)
@ImaginaryEvil7 жыл бұрын
Sound like round wounds to me.
@charlie2namon7 жыл бұрын
If you watch the very end of the video it says the strings are coated EMP strings. That is a good choice on a fretless bass because the coating will give some protection to the fingerboard. Besides that fretless bass tone doesn't really require the brightest possible bass string. Still, I like roundwounds for how they respond to my touch. I have had a lot of dissatisfaction with flat wounds, even though they may sound great....it's how they play, that bugs me. (IMHO)

"Based on the Framus Star Bass from the 60s?" You are joking.I used to have a Framus(it was my first bass)and I can tell you it's nothing like the Warwick.It was fully hollow,not semi hollow,the neck was much narrower and the electronics were totally different.And oh yes, it was crap. The Warwick is superior in every respect.
