So glad to have found this vid. I never knew what kind of watch Bruce wore. As a young boy (and shortly after his death) I bought a watch that resembled the watch Bruce used to wear. I also bought a pair of sunglasses and a wire looking bracelet that resembled something that he wore. I was a crazy fan……Still am 👍

Your passion for this watch is contagious. I think anytime your hear someone talk about something they’re truly passionate about it inspires the listener to be more passionate about their own interests. Hope you’re able to find the accompanying bracelet to fully scratch that itch. 😊

As someone who is picky about watches to personal wear, the Seiko 6139 610 is the one I have been wanting one for a very long time, and I would wear it daily. So, to see someone making a video about their passion for this watch and has received one, just make me happy.😊 Have A Lovely Day.

Wow. I didn't know about the Bruce Lee Seiko until I think some celebrities were collecting it. Man, that is a link to some history and The Dragon.

Great video! I actually bought mine from DC Vintage Watches and mine came with the rally bracelet. Although I did change it with a grey leather strap. You should reach out to them to see if they have any more rally bracelets. Cheers!

The 6139-802x had the option of that rally bracelet with the backing on the holes, it too was made by Stelux and my Dad ordered a 6139-8029 with that option. The standard Rally bracelet didn’t have backing. Bruce Lee wore two different types of Stelux, the one you pointed out with the oval holes but also probably that one you have on your 6010, it’s so rare to find one these days. Some say he filed down the end links on the standard 6139-802x bracelet which was 20mm instead of 19mm but I think it’s more likely it was that exact bracelet you’ve got on yours but maybe with the black or brown backing as some of the pictures look definitely like the colour of the holes isn’t the colour of his skin.

I got a similar 6139 in the 70s as a gift from my uncle in the USAF (probably from the PX) with Spanish and English alternating days and water RESIST on the face. I wore it from HS graduation in 72, next to every girlfriend, through undergrad, medical school and was wearing it when I married in 1980. I used it to set mechanical ventilation before ventilators were rate calibrated in the early 80s. Finally it failed with the chrono spinning wildly. I set it aside for an early Casio. It sat in a box for a few years until I got rid of it. I was so young and STUPID. I never even thought to have it repaired and preserving it. It was such a comfortable, perfectly sized classic! Probably 15 years ago I picked up a good vintage one on Ebay and after servicing it runs great, I wore it to my daughter's wedding. Sad that my original is in a landfill somewhere waiting for a future archeologist. Great enthusiastic review. I had no idea it was so similar to Bruce Lee's! Still my favorite watch to wear for weeks at a time to take full advantage of the day date function, easy wearing comfort, elegant modern case shape, and perfect size. Contemporary watches are WAY too big. BIG CONGRATS! Welcome to the 6139 fam!!

Congrats this is a beaut, I’ve been searching for one for years and I’m glad a true collector got their hands on not one but two. Never been able to pull the trigger due to all the frankenwatches out there and crazy price points 🎉

Might want to check with the seller to see if they are aftermarket dials - the 6010 is in the wrong place and the 70M is to tight. 6139 are notorious for inauthentic aftermarket parts.

This is a beautiful watch, Maurice. I'm a watch guy, but not too fond of chronos to be honest. However for this one I make an exception. It's lovely.

There are many photos of Bruce Lee wearing a brown-dial watch. The rare brown was only available from the Hong Kong and SE Asia distributor, Thong Sia, and most date from late 69 to mid 70. They were all WATER 70M PROOF and the majority had English/Chinese day wheels. It's always possible that BL had both black and brown, but one thing that's for sure is that he had a brown one. The brown dial often looks dark and can easily be thought of as black, but there's a clear contrast between the black chapter ring and the dial - even in B&W press conference photos etc, once you look, you'll probably conclude it's not a black dial he's wearing.

Fantastic watch! Can you push the reset pusher while it is ticking or should that mess it up? By the way, I had the actual oval hole rally bracelet stamped KREISLER STELUX Stainless Steel Made in Hong Kong on another watch several years ago … but it was lost. [insert heavy sigh here]
