Wish I had the money for the Cartier monopoussoir back in 2015 when I fell in love with the watch but couldn’t even get close to affording it. Almost 10 years later I love it more than ever…one day, no matter the price, I’ll have it

Hey Christian! Great work, as always! I just watched one of your older videos with Michael, as I was researching buying the TH Skipper for my Dad’s birthday, and I’m sure you’ve gotten so many comments on people missing Michael on the channel etc., but I thought I’d provide my two cents on why I think the two of you guys worked (from a viewer’s standpoint) so great together. Firstly, I think Michael was a great foil for you personality wise. To me, you are a brilliant young entrepreneur, and Michael was your everyman foil (albeit Michael is a brilliant entrepreneur himself). While I think Sam tried his best and seems like a sweet guy, on camera, he seemed to always agree with your points, where Michael would poke fun of you, disagree or just banter with you, which was a lot of fun to see as a viewer. I liken it to Mr. Wonderful on Teddy Baldassare’s channel; Teddy provides great information and polish while Mr. Wonderful adds an unreserved personality Teddy often lacks. Now, I’m not saying you’re boring, at all, only that Michael filled in certain gaps personality wise, and as a viewer of your channel for years, I’d love to see you bring someone else on, who’s a great match to you, to add to the entertainment value of these videos. As an aside, I’m a musician who usually watches (listens) to your videos while driving to and from gigs, so the more entertaining the better for me, as it helps me stay awake on late night drives. Anyway, thank you for doing what you do!

Hey Christian, I bought a ARMITRON watch when I first got into watches. It was a sports/dive style watch with a green dial, and black bezel. Is there a better watch from a more reputable brand that matches that description that isn’t all too expensive?

Sure I have regrets since I had that money 10 years ago and nowadays I absolutely love that watch, but collecting is a journey and back then spending 10K on a watch was like the final frontier to me, so 50K no way... plus sure today I get the watch but 10 years ago to me it was "my dad's watch" and I wasn't interested by "classic Patek". Who cares about missing a boat if the journey has been great

The vc malt perpetual chrono has come back down in price to where it has been for nearly 20 years. It's got that neo vintage look and classic size with the same base caliber

I think the Patek 5035 is very undervalued on the used market. It's got a great history but they did make alot relitavly for Patek over It's 20 year production. It's now been out of production for long enough to start being collectable. With watch sizes getting smaller at 37.5mm it's aproching today's sweet spot for dress watches.

@TheoandHarris I had a clarity of thought today, so many collectors are coming forward today to engage in content with respective platform owners, be it individual owners or larger entities of these platforms; So many of these individuals coming forward in my opinion do not have the real means to afford these watches, so I feel. Why wold someone with that kind of disposable income work so hard to help or assist the watch market, these are investments, I feel divided on the concept. All the watches I have been able to afford are only for my pleasure. I am not saying it applies to everyone but there is some truth to it, watch collecting market is sort of a ponzi scheme. Kevin O Leary is on KZbin every where and I sense it is not for free, there is a lot of ethical issues in our hobby.

I was offered a Patek Nautilus 5712/1A back in 2010 for $28,000. I was stupid. Instead, I bought an IWC Portuguese Perpetual that lost about $8k in value…

I love Christian. On the subject of tastemakers and how they influence a culture, you can't really be a tastemaker if you like/agree with everything presented to you. If every time someone presents you something it's always a glowing review of whatever it is, that person isn't an influencer or a tastemaker, they're an advertiser, and who likes being advertised to all the time? I love that Christian isn't afraid to say what he doesn't like as well as praise what he does like. It takes having standards and opinions that you're willing to stand on to be someone truly influential, and I believe Christian has that.

@Christian watch collectors will hardly ever get attention from outside of their circle, we are now in an age that as far as it says Patek on the dial, it will automatically have bragging rights as Paul Pluata will say; "Circle Jerking Friends". My eyes have really opened to our hobby and the B.S around it

The perpetual is amazing but when ppl blow the Calatrava can we acknowledge it’s just worshipping a status good? It’s not the design or the proportions, it’s a fucking boring watch with two words on it that signal wealth. No one would give two shits about a Calatrava if it weren’t a brand on the level of Patek.
