Which is probably the case in real life too. Or at least, a small conglomerate of conspirators who for some reason, didn't like the real life family living there. The "all hail the watcher! line in one of the letters is an incredibly millennial thing to say, while the former letter seems to be a slight bit more sophisticated.

Things to ponder and be baffled over with no real answers (in no particular order) 1: Jasper mentioning how many bones a baby has in the beginning, coincidence? 2: Why a camera was never placed to watch the mailbox? 3: Mitch/Mo's son who waited till they went on vacation to find two people who resembled them to kill for life insurance? a: Why wouldn't he have just murdered them? b: No autopsy done to verify identity? c: just not a realistic spin. 4: The tunnels...THE TUNNELS! Why weren't they ever explored and investigated further? 5: That weird tension when Roger said he thinks he remembered ''John'' 6: Was Andrew crazy, or telling the truth about Mitch/Mo and the Blood Cult? See question 1 7: Why did Dean say his name was ''John'' at the end? 8: Who was the girl in pig tails? 9: Was there a police cover up, and why was it never talked about further? 10: Is that the end? No more? No Season 2?

Kind of wish they set up cameras near the mailbox too. Would've made life much more simple. Explaining the blood cult thing would've been a nice payoff as well. Clearly there was something there since John Graff left those blood bottles in the basement. Something was going on there and it would've been nice to have even just a small payoff towards the end.

Just watched this. Its a hot mess of twists and never know but its obvious the dude in the tunnel is the guy one getting into the house. But in real life the tunnels dont exist.

@@plsdietony exactly but people go on to wonder who John got letters from if he was the watcher. My theory is that roger was the original watcher which is why he knows John and that he killed his family when they have that preservation society meeting. Roger handed down the role to the watcher to John and now John has handed the watcher down to dean. All 20 years apart

We all know the dying lady is not the Watcher that she confessed to being! She is only saying this to him so that he can stop obssessing over the case and so it gets his marriage back on track. AFTER his wife telling her that he was getting obsessed still and thier marriage was on the rocks. The watcher is MO!! And we find it out in the next series!

Am I the only one who thinks that the daughter may have been the watcher? She said she would do anything to get back at her dad. She was already in the house and could have crawled in the bed, as weird as that is. She initially didn’t want to leave the city, so she had motive. She was tech savvy and knew where all the cameras were.

Arent anyone going to speak about that John were up in the window at 657 for the new family when they were moving in? He were clearly still keep using his secret tunnel, he is living with the crazy lady and Jasper and goes under the tunnel to update them for all the new construction which is to be done. Rhen they speak about it in their club. Then they togheter make the watcher lettere togheter. as we remember John also had the watcher, and as said in the letters «it is now my turn» i belive the watcher goes on from person to person. John probably had an old one many years ago, and now he haa been for years and to everyone while hiding in the tunnel and at Jasper. And now Dean is obsessed and he wil like to join in also beeing the watcher.

The excuse that there was no resolution because it was a true story is bullshit. This was inspired by true events but landed up almost nothing like what actually happened. Throughout watching this show i was amazed at how unpredictable it was, but now I realise it was unpredictable because they had no fucking clue where they were heading.

I mean what a complete joke. Started off with a lot of promise, then went downhill in a hurry. Did they give an explanation for even one damn thing?!?! I think the creators were obsessed with trying to break the world record for plot twists in one show. If they didn't have a problem changing mostly everything factual in the true story, then why not change the real life ending as well?? A payoff would've been nice. Well, I guess that means stay tuned for season 2...
