@@johnnyl1957 Hehe, Johnny, well you know more about Appalachian music than I do. I need to research it like you did. I just know I love it. Here in America, you usually find it in the mountainous states like Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia. It’s the closest thing we have to American folk music, a very pure and authentic sound which highlights the struggles and joys of mountain people. Those Appalachian musicians are really talented too. I am more a songwriter than a musician, so I really admire good musicianship. I can piddle around a bit to get my songs out there, but I love to hear good banjo, mandolin and fiddle playing. Wish I had those skills. :) Janet

I only know what I know from Wikipedia and hope they are reliable. 🤞I also watched a very good documentary on the history of Country Music that spoke of the music that came out of the Appalachians. I'm sure Dolly comes from that area! She is a great picker in her own right. Yes! I wish I had those skills also! . . . . but we make do with what we have Janet! You have a gift in your songwriting . . . . which I was told when I was young is the 'blood of the industry'. You should be very proud of what you do! 🎼 ☮

What little I did hear merely added character to the performance. No idea what I will try to play next (I seem to be stuck again now after playing matilda) but I D0 know it wont be at the calibre of your playing! And that is not flattery either. Well! You shouldn't be selling yourself short Clay! You play well, and I sincerely mean that! 👌 If you want to improve, choose a song you like that is a tad more difficult than what you now play. Maybe look through a couple of the really good tutorials out there . . . eg, 'Shut up and Play' or 'Jerry's Guitar Bar' (he costs about 7$ a piece). I have payed for Jerry's tutorials on a few occasions now. Really worth it! If you just do a little bit at a time, you will get it, I'm 100% certain of that! If you go into his site you can view all the songs he has tutorials on, and I'm sure you will find one to your liking. Mate! You have good feel/touch and you love what you do! There are two big reasons for you to go the next step. 🙏
