Very nice!! Even with the hole from the chainsaw; it adds character to the piece. As a safety suggestion. Those circular carving blades used on angle grinders are horribly dangerous. Over the last 40 years I have investigated industrial accidents involving those blades and the outcomes are not pretty. Kickbacks are often very violent. Suggest using some other less dangerous tool like the Arbortech Ball Gouge. But that tool has a different set of dangers. However, kickbacks not nearly as bad if you are going to do this type of work. Work safely, Bud. Hate to see you get hurt.

I was more taken with the song than the piece for the 1st few min. This reflects less from the standpoint of your work, given the piece hasn't even taken shape much by that point, but simply a testament to the singer and the style in which she chose to sing the song. Thank you Don! I don't usually track my hours mainly because it's a hobby for me and I don't want to have to face my own insanity. 😜. I would estimate around 15 hrs....

@@artgivinghope That sounds like a reasonable amount of time that ambitious project. I think turning is a wonderful hobby for a surgeon. It makes perfect sense to me. My hands get beat up while I'm turning, make sure you watch them, keep them out of harms way. God bless you for this cause you're raising money for.
