The way I hooked up a lubricating line to the steering cables of the jet boat

this worked for the port side but on the other the swivel braket was stuck and wouldnt unscrew and I couldnt find a way to hold the rod tightly enough to put enough force to turn without damaging it. Not sure how to unbind it, any ideas?
