Wait, should the echo come with the extension? I have a 5m and 7m echo and for the 7m echo I use the larger 141-201 boom. Have never heard of this extension! (also just got a 6m Slick and love it)

Is there a difference between a wing with a separate boom and one without ( like the naish ones) ? Thanks
@Frozenguy13 жыл бұрын
One without a boom is about half the weight, other than that they're both fine. I prefer without boom as I can hold out longer with the lighter rig.

Hi Alan - I just got my new Duotone Echo and have the same Ozone pump as you but it doesn't fit the valve on my Duotone wing? Do you have some sort of adapter on your pump? Cheers
@alancadizwingfoilinginstru29263 жыл бұрын
There is an adapter. I don't have one. I think second wind sells a kit. Are you on Maui?

Hey - thanks for the reply and no I’m down in New Zealand coming out of winter.

My Duotone Echo 7m didn't come with the rope extension you mentioned in the beginner of the video. Do I buy separately? Another thing, today I've inflated the Wing for the first time and the Dump Valve moved to inside of the wing! Is this an issue or it's normal? I could recover the dump valve and put in the correct location and I had to hold firmely as another arm was pumping the wing. It's still trying to move again to inside as I out more pressure...looks like it's twisted inside... just wondering if you had the same issue and how to resolve...by the way, congrats for all you videos!

You only need the extension if you have longer boom. It does sound like the bladder is twisted. I have never had that problem with a new wing only after i took the bladder out to patch a leak. You have to partially inflate and massage the bladder around. deflate and repeat until its not twisted. check with your dealer or who you got the wing from. Note: I am not a dealer just a rider with some experience. Thanks and subscribe if you have not.

Alan Cadiz Thank you for the info. I’ve the longer boom. This is the 7m wing, but the extension didn’t come with the Wing...

@@rafaelmcs I would contact the person who sold it to you or maybe Duotone directly to see if they can ship you one or make one out of some old kite lines.

You do not need the extension pigtail line fitness draft control rope with the 6 or 7m the line is already setup perfectly for the long boom as that is the Only boom it works with. The extension is provided a with the 4 or 5m only and you only use it when rigging with the Long boom, don't not use it when rigging with short boom. As far as dump valve is concerned please contact dealer or call wing rep. In your country to help you help you get the bladder straight. Using your wing with dump valve getting sucked into leading edge could result in a long swim if it accidentally releases the air.

What is that string for though? Not really noticed a big difference without it
@alancadizwingfoilinginstru29263 жыл бұрын
It keeps the draft from moving back when your powered up.
@danyak1013 жыл бұрын
The Draft control rope adds a lot of bottom end power and keeps the canopy more rigid high also handles the gusts better without getting backwinded.

Hi man. Does any of your Duotone valves leak air when you unscrew the cap? Just observed this on my new Unit 5m. None of my 2019 Duotone kites, which apparently have the same valves, have this issue. Mahalo.
@alancadizwingfoilinginstru29263 жыл бұрын
Yes, sometime as i unscrew the cap i hear a short pssst. I think it might be pressure leaking into the air space of the cap.
@thefoildesigner3 жыл бұрын
@@alancadizwingfoilinginstru2926 Thanks for the reply. The fact is, none of my Neo 2019 do that and they have the same airport valve 2 systems. Have you tried to keep the valve in the position when you hear the pssst? In my case air keeps coming out, as seen in the video below. In the unlikely event the cap were to open while riding, the wing would just completely deflate, which is not good. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6jTqZWdms5gn7s

@@thefoildesigner I just watched your video. I have never had or seen this problem. Makes me think either there is something foreign stuck in the valve or it is defective. Can you have your dealer look at it?
@thefoildesigner3 жыл бұрын
Alan Cadiz i messaged duotone via facebook and they say it is normal...the fact that wing can stay inflated over night without the cap seams to indicate that it the valve is not obstructed (i think 🤔). If you can, try to leave your cap in its position when you start hearing the psst next time it happens.

@@alancadizwingfoilinginstru2926 Upon further inspection I found that part of the O-ring located UNDER the inner blue ring, which is usually hidden, came out and it is stuck outside. I tried to put it back in place, but found that it is nearly impossible. What is problematic is that the rotating blue ring slices the O-ring each time I turn it. I have no other choices but to have the valve replaced on that brand new product :-( This also explains why the blue ring is off-centered, as the part of the O-ring that popped out is pushing it out of alignment. So play close attention to that blue ring in the future if you have leak issues. Cheers, Nico
