In order to maintain LPR status, you have to actually be a resident. She can't leave for more than 6 months at a time or she loses her green card.

Yeah he’s real dumb. He got her a California ID with his parents address. That is not proof of residence . She needs a utility bill or something similar. When they next go through immigration, the proof of non-residency is the passport. Rejected at port of entry and told she has to return on the next flight. The son has USC so he’s fine but he aint going to babysit a kid.

@@Electrichead64 regardless if its a 2 year or a 10 year, the requirement is that you LIVE in the USA. Her passport will show that she only spent 2 weeks out of 18 months in the USA. When they try to pass through the port if entry next time, she will be rejected, turned back on the next flight and he will be out $5k in expenses. I know from experience. My ex was on a green card and we lived 1 year in Brazil for my work. During a consulate visit, they warned me her green card would expire if I didn’t prove our stay out of country was work related.
