One of my favorite all time tunes. Seriously, I wish I were back in 1981. Best decade of my life in some ways. In some ways a heartbreaker.. Younger, poorer but more free and more happy.and more healthy.. Incredible transitions in my life. This song always brins it a ll back. Learned how to play it once. Doo doo doo doo doo do.♫♫ ♫♫

If this was Jeff Lynne's only song ever written he would still have been inducted into the hall of fame. The whole "Time" album is a musical masterpiece, even with the imperfections that are easy to spot in a retrospect. What he lacked back then in post-production he more than made up for when later producing Traveling Wilburys and Tom Petty.

Hola. Este es el peor tema del álbum " Time " ( 1981 ). Le quitó el lugar a canciones que fueron lados B , como " July don´t live here" o " When time stood still ". Tremendas canciones - según mi parecer. En cambio : " The way life´s meant to be " ( 1981 ) " Endless lies " ( En ambas versiones : 1983 y 1986 ) " Send it " ( 1986 ) " Across the border " ( 1977 ) " Wild west hero " ( 1977 ) " Believe me now " ( 1977 ) , es lo peor , lo más mediocre que ha hecho esta tremenda banda inglesa , mi favorita. Saludos.

Got to be honest, I've never heard of Joe Dolan. Sacrilege maybe but I'm only 70 years old so hopefully a bit of time to get to know him. Thought I'd better check him out before I made a stupid reply to your comment. His version of this, is very good and I listened to it quite a few times and thoroughly enjoyed it but I still reckon the ELO version is better. I believe this was the last recorded track before ELO gave it away. No offence intended. Not a lot in between them. 🙂
