QUOTES:
“Whether the lie is for good or for evil, it has the same effect on you. When you speak to other people in a way that presents a persona that isn't what you really are, you've sold yourself away for those people to make them happy.” [7:15]
“A lot of times you don't have to tell those lies to be polite, but if you say something that's not true, you yourself end up paying the price.” [8:04]
“if it's worth throwing your life away, for one little child, it's worth throwing your life away for another, for your own inner child, for the truth of yourself. [15:08]
“There is so much joy in an ordinary day, when you're living in integrity” [20:53]
“The shape that fits with integrity is integrity. So you're actually inviting everyone around you to be honest with you, as you're honest with them.” [24:57]
“You’re split from yourself because you were trying to be good. And you need to find out where that pulled you away from your truth, and reexamine that, so you can find your truth. And when you have enough of your truth, you act, that's how it works.” [30:49]
“When we're pushing ourselves to do more of something, that's not true for us, not in integrity for us, it actually makes the pain much worse very quickly.” [32:34]
“for you not to answer your life's purpose would be the ultimate stress.” [38:18]
“fill your time with things you love, and subtract the things you don't love. Step by step by step, your whole life will turn around.” [40:38]
“you don't get the success and that brings you peace, you go to peace, and that brings you success.” [43:04]

This video was a huge turning point for me the past few weeks. I realized I don’t want to have a hypnotherapy business. That really I want to be a full time artist. That I held a believe that being an artist isn’t enough to help other people. I realized I couldn’t face clients to tell them to follow their intuition when I am not doing the same. ❤️

Navigating that is not so easy. Nutshell eureka wisdom ... is ALWAYS tricky. In with excitement embarking on a newfound technique and effort in handling your life better, you’re actually selling yourself to another bondage that’s tricky to map and keep track of. Reality, not pessimism. I have bypassed that “benign” trap by following the Perfect motivational speech, the Bible. No failing there ... if you do your part right. “I came that they might have life, and life in abundance”. No lie in that promise ... no need to lie. It is from Perfection. Wish you all the best 💚🙂

I spent 10 plus years concentrating on my husbands life and dream. I was really good at building other people’s stuff-considerate enough to see the vision, work long hard day’s to achieve the momentum, and was there at each and every step of the way til to goal was materialized. Lost everything. Realized I lost myself too. And am now rising slowly to do it all over again, for myself and to benefit those that stood by me at my worst.

Annee you speak to me I always felt like I am the one who is better at supporting others get to be where they want to be because. I always felt that this is what I want to to support my family. I dont know where I want to be myself. I know I am good at helping them to get there. I just graduated in occupational therapy but to be honest I feel so much resistance to It i need to leave. I told myself I’ll grow from its but I dont want to grow into that anymore. There again I see myself better at supporting my family and boyfriend of 10years with is paintor business and just pay myself salary from that. But yes forgetting myself. On the otherhand I can learn so much! I dont feel any intuition to what I should do for myself. Oh dear
@gherieg.1091
@gherieg.1091 Жыл бұрын
@@hanemloudi If you work at getting the insight into the people that you are supporting, that they’re not taking cynical advantage ... then you’re right where you’re most happy being/doing. Being good to people is the best thing you can do for yourself. You get a clean conscience from being that way ... and you also have the bonus of liking, respecting and admiring yourself. That is the life most worth living. If you recognise that as a working strategy, and not be constantly looking around wondering if you’re doing the right thing ... ... then the inspiration how to continue being a blessing to others, AND at the same time doing well for your own advancement comes easy. Real easy. 🙂 Wish you all the best 💚🙂

The Bible has been telling us that for millennia. “The truth will set you free” ... ?🙂 The bonus with the Bible is that you get abiding EXPERT coaching that sticks with you even in your thoughts and dreams. But the next best thing is Jordan Peterson. He’s dang close to the Bible in his insights. You can easily gather that from the comments under any of his myriad videos on KZbin. I haven’t yet watched this video, I came straight to the comments. And got the urge to reply to yours ... I can’t think of why right at this moment. I read an article by this Beck lady about ‘how to manage your honesty bone’, to paraphrase. And I’m here to see if the quality is consistent. My hunch says it prob is. Wish you all the best 💚🙂

What I found is that the reasons why people don't want us to change varies. They want to have control, or they need you to be in an inferior, or lower place so that they can feel better than you. I lost ' friends' when I didn't stay put into the boxes they put me🤷‍♂️

@Saloshnie Agree💯This is why we can only focus on ourselves (healthy enough) not distracted with the choices others want for us. We have our own GPS set, if we can call this. So they/ we gravitate to make their/our own choices, even unconsciously, yes, manipulating, controlling others to get their own choices fulfilled. So, it is our decision to choose. Even not choosing is a decision. When we make a decision to take ‘responsibility’ (meaning we tell ourselves: I did the best I could with what I knew at the time) 🆚 ‘blaming’ (they did this to me; and invest energy to focus on what they did and on them) we feel empowered to, in the here and now, with the present knowledge, move forward setting boundaries so that we don’t allow ourselves to continue the same behavior patterns to happen. This decision of course, takes responsibility, awareness, self understanding, and , self introspection. It is slowly accomplished.. but it is self liberating! Best regards.

Ok Lisa, here goes the truth that I havent allowed myself to face. The truth is that after 12 years of teaching I always feel compromised because the u.s. public school system isn't really equal for everyone. What I really want is to have my own business but I'm afraid to let go of this 'secure' situation. I really like what Martha said about spending 10 less minutes on what u don't want & spending those 10 minutes on what you do. I found that really encouraging. It made me feel that chipping away at the mountain will at some point give me the freedom & creativity that I really seek. Thank u Lisa & Martha, soo needed this talk today.

I have multiple incurable chronic illnesses. At 28 I lost my business and passions and found myself disabled and grieving my life as a musician, powerlifter, business owner, and outgoing fun person...but I really appreciated the way she explained how rest can be stress. Being purposeless in itself is excruciating. Finding my love for life again has helped me overcome some symptoms and challenges. I still need to know when to rest, but, I too would go skiing even if Oprah called me nowadays. Now I only work for enjoyment not the rat race or status or acceptance from peers and family. I support my friends and family and community and I'm find if people walk away. My pain is mine but so is my joy.

@@dani323 Hi Dani, thanks for asking. Sorryit has taken me so long to reply. It has actually been amazing. Firstly I realised that I am aroace, I have dropped a lot of resentment against people from the past (espacially exs), my relationship with my daughter has become far more adult (she's 19). One of the most interesting things is that I have started to take a moment to actually think about what my truth is. I'm not sure how to explain it except through example...I used to get 'cross' and be *honest* about things like my kids not washing up or doing chores. Before I used to react and tell them off, now I take a moment to think about whether I am acting through habit or whether it is my truth and often I find that it actually doesn't matter to me very much so my truth is actually to let it go. And taking that moment makes me think about what the problem is and how I really feel, then I can verbalise it in a more rational and calm manner. It has changed my reactions a lot. I would recommend it to anyone xxx

So for me, to tell the truth means NOT to do it otherwise you’ll be thrown away. It’s happened to me multiple times with other issues too because I felt like I MUST tell the truth. I’d like to see what Martha thinks?

I'm seeing your comment just now, but Martha actually went through the exact same through the exact same experience. She was molested by her father and when she told her family about it they completely disowned her. It was like 30 years ago or something. But she grieved that loss and moved on. I'm no expert, but maybe what you need to do is grieve what you've lost? Reading Martha Beck's latest book might help to because she does discuss her experience with that.

A family that rejects you for being brave, and honest, and surviving, and giving them the tools to protect you and protect themselves - Linda, you saved yourself from them. Their disowning response was another massive abuse, yes. And you had to survive and withstand it. But that means THEY ARE HORRIBLY ABUSIVE and you are, terrifyingly, better off without them.

From now on I'm being unpollogetically myself I don't care I can't sleep at nights I feel such bitterness in myself because I was fake all these time so people can like me and I started hating myself for it. I don't care I can't go on like this from now on I speak the truth I I say my truth no matter what. All parts of me, confident, vulnerable, all parts of me. I know a lot of people will seriously hate me but I'm literally killing myself like this. I can do this I know. When I was completely myself was the best time I felt ever. Already feels liberating. Let's go 🔥🔥🔥🔥

DETECTING PATTERNS in how speak to ourselves is KEY for those of us with anxiety and in transition from past limiting patterns. WE need to become aware of the specific phrases that continue to give us an un-easy gut reaction. TIP: 1. Make an inventory of these statements. 2. Make it mandatory to combat this with WORDS TO YOURSELF that are accurate and kind. 3. Create and recite an affirmation each morning, specific to you, detailing you deserve happiness. BEST PRACTICES and WISHES to us ALL!

Thank you Lisa this was a great interview with Martha! I love the "walking back the cat" example. I've never heard of this before. I will do this when I have my emotional eating crisis. As for integrity, it's more challenging when working in the service industry and also in a corporate environment. I hope Martha discusses this in her book. I'm eager to read it.

I was talking to my in-laws about how I’m the only person in the marriage who physically cleans the house (like scrubbing on my hands and knees to clean the bathroom and kitchen), and that I just hate to do it. I guess I was looking for some female supporters. Instead they questioned whether my mother had me doing chores as a kid (she didn’t) and then said that was the reason. I felt guilty, and ashamed, so I went home and cleaned harder, put it on a weekly schedule. You are so bang on with these talks.
