This was a great video. I’ve been trying to heed this advice and talk to myself better recently especially when practicing basketball and I just wanted to say it def helps. It helps make my practice much more enjoyable and helps me focus on moving past a mistake instead of just being angry about it.

Coach, can you make a video on the fundamentals of the guard positions and drills for each of them?

We don't make on-court videos anymore. We do, however, have a lot of videos like that on our channel here: kzbin.infoplaylists Simon DeepGame

I am struggling with how be a leader in the best way possible. I have done countless hours of studying leadership strategies from many different players and people in general and from many different sources. One problem I think I have is that the people I am studying are.much older than I am, therefore their teammates react differently. How do I know how to approach a certain situation in a calm and gentle way versus a very bold and "harsher" way? I would always have compassion and make sure my teammates know I do it with the best intentions and make sure I also lead by example in everything.

You really need to play around with it. There's no rule for this (one of the reasons leading is hard). There are times when your team needs more of that serious energy, and there are times when your team needs that gentle, caring hand. Simon DeepGame

Hi Sorry to bother I’ve been having a problem lately in my game , the problem is that if I don’t score a point in before 5 min into the game I will not have a good game , is there any tips on getting ready right when the game starts Thx
@wes22702 жыл бұрын
I can relate to that. There are have been some games this season where I have gone scoreless early into the game, and it carried out the rest of the game. In my last game of the season though. I went 1/8 in the first half, and my team was down. I didn't let that alter me though, I was completely in the zone. I wasn't thinking at all, it was just instinct. I wasn't thinking about how bad I played in the first half, I wasn't thinking about what people thought of me, I didn't think about the fact I was having a bad game, because the game was not done yet. I ended up having the half of my life, and scored 16 points in 10 ish minutes. I was hustling my butt off on both ends of the floor. The only thing that mattered in the whole world was bringing my team back and winning the game. I flipped off whatever happened or whatever was happening, because it didn't matter. I didn't let something meaningless to the present and was in the past, effect the present. In my perspective, the past didn't exist nor did the future, it was just now.

I would challenge this idea, and say that it's more likely that your belief that you need to score within 5 minutes is causing your game more damage then actually not scoring in the first 5 minutes. Simon DeepGame

I love your videos coach and it's ver inspirational, but it seems basketball isn't just for me. I love you this game this is my passion and I think I'm going to drop the game. I'm 21 and still average almost 5 points per game and sometimes just 2🥺
