Very nice video! Loved it. Bosch has so many tiny and mysterious details all over in all his paintings - great mind ! I like all of your videos and shorts. Keep them coming. Thank You very much for your efforts in making them.

Thanks, Bosch was truly unique in the way he approached his paintings. It probably helped that he worked in a city with relative little art history, so he could develop his own ideas.

The intricate symbols in art are something I'm only just beginning to appreciate. It's fascinating to me how a detail can have different meanings, depending on the work, and people seeing it at that time would have known just what it meant. In the Arnolfini Portrait by Van Eyck, for instance, the dog represents fidelity; but in the Wayfarer, the dog is diabolical. Thanks for the insight, as always!

That's right, but one dog looks more friendly than the other ;-) I have made several videos about symbolism in art recently, and it is indeed not always easy for us to understand.

The inn is more of an inn in my view, given the way the maidens are dressed. The peeing man in view - a symbol of guilt for hitting lows. The magpie is traditionally a symbol of thievery, the ox of hard work, the owl of wisdom, all seem elusive and watching on rather than being part of the wayfarer's journey or baggage.
