Fun fact. The Mauser “broom handle” was the foundation of Han Solo’s iconic pistol (blaster) and can also be found in Resident Evil 4.

In my head the Chinese Pistol is a Wauser. In real life there were a lot of domestic chinese copies of mauser guns, with the C96 having been popular for legal reasons. Quite a few examples have an unsidedown M in the faux-Mauser stamps.

16:32 what's funny is that S&W didn't even make the 1000 series. They were made by Howa in Japan for S&W. After S&W discontinued them Mossberg took up a contract with Howa for them. I recently was gifted a 1000M, its a pretty decent design if just slightly antiquated.

1:45 I know that's a Winchester Widowmaker in the game, but the real Winchester Widowmaker (the Model 1911) was a semi-auto. The nickname came from an awkward charging system (chosen to bypass a Browning patent that they had earlier rejected) which involved grabbing a knurled portion of the barrel and pulling backwards. Sometimes, when trying to clear a jam, users would put the butt of the gun on the ground and push down on the barrel for extra leverage, often causing a gun with a live round in the chamber to be pointing at their face.

Seeing the guns of Fallout go from having this rich history to being nameless generics is unfortunate. I'd love to see a video analyzing the guns of the more recent Fallout titles and comparing them to the older games/real life firearms and speculating what company made each of them. Even if it's just a headcanon, it'd make the guns of modern Fallout feel more grounded.
@N_orteКүн бұрын
I’d imagine it just comes down to name licensing. Less of a hassle to make a more generic weapon. But that could be an interesting video idea. Maybe a series of shorts!

If I remember right, it's a popular build. The lower your HP, the more damage you do. And rads help keep your health low and thus keeping your damage high
