Hey POW thanks! We just bought this house and property. Several people have lived here before us but were not successful. The beautiful 3 bay shop FLOODS. My husband went to work on the problem right away. He rented equipment and dug and graded a huge trench behind the shop to direct the water away from the shop and towards a natural gully at the property line where water flows naturally from the mountain behind us down to the creek below. Also there are two giant dead hickory trees on the property that are threatening the house and barn. Next week we will call an experienced tree man to bring them down safely and we will cut them up ourselves for firewood. Just yesterday a big limb fell from the dead tree near the house. We need to get these chores done before the next big storm comes....and it will. Thanks POW!

Thanks Roy. ☔ Praying we get rain next week on the Cumberland Plateau between Nashville and Knoxville. The dry season is actually here for many areas in the country. The NWS discussion for my immediate area reported last night that we are done with the 90* temps until next year so October really will be different this year. Prayers for all the Americans in the path of this dangerous storm approaching soon.

The last La Nina we had our temperatures here in central Minnesota were a roller coaster up and down up and down warm up start melting snow then it gets cold and freezes everything and turns it to ice that's the way it was is that the way it's going to be again because that is not good.

It was like the weather had decided I wasn't going to burn anything, lol. I made the brownies with the pumpkin today. Added a little cinnamon and two teaspoons sugar. The BOM website is showing wildly different numbers for the equatorial Pacific. BOM shows the 3.4 region to be at -0.21 C and you just showed it at -1.0 C. BOM is also showing a much smaller cold pool in the subsurface. Is something going on with the BOM website? I've always found it to be the best for viewing the current ENSO conditions but it appears their graphics are no longer jiving with reality.

Map at 5:16, I don't understand. I understand the closed low pressure in isobars and the blue color. But then in Canada I see closed red and orange colors but don't see a closed high except for the Bermuda high to the south and east. Does the red/orange represent temperatures above a normal mean value because they don't appear to be related to a "heat dome" sort on phenomenon.

I have severe storm anxiety and seeing this map about tornadoes makes my anxiety go up. I know you can't really predict when and where tornados are going to happen. I mean you can look at the jet stream and sort of predict where there are going to be storms but that is even subject to change almost a few weeks out
