My mixed race family the same way,like this family but worst,we real indian,black,and white, and i can remember my jewish great grandmother used to let the light,red,pale,tan skinned greatgrand children eat in at the table and let the darker ones ones eat on the floor,when we was alone with her and when other family or friends comeover for the summer she would turn fake nice and let all of us eat at the dining room, i will never forget that,but shes past but i never care 4 her she was so mean

@Angie Williams I agree with you,your story a mirror to mine,yes anybody can be racist mot all of course I'm not,I'm a mixed female I'm proud and happy its a blessing in nice ,kind friendly giving but the main people who hate me or bully me was mostly blacks not all but the majority of them,other races hate to but again its blacks white never bother me,or any other race,its mild but its blacks always starting shit because I'm different,unique,creative and innovative,its always this or that I know how you feel.i dont understand blacks want equal rights and respect but they turn into hypocrites they feel like they can say whatever they want to and when people put them in they're place they want to scream racism,being stuck up or hating,nobody is perfect and nobody gonna except that behavior,most blacks shouldn't worry about whites bringing them down because blacks bring each other down what goes around comes around,I pray and god brings me through it all.

i'm a white woman and normally not violent, but when i heard the comment that the gram said about her great great granddaughter , i wanted to slap the whiteness off of her.Unfortunately, even though this is fiction i think a lot of white people did and still feel the way the gram did. In my opinion, I feel ashamed to be part of a race that treated people that way. i came from a Jewish family, so i understand prejudice. In fact, i had a family member killed in the Holocaust just for being Jewish. i feel it's important to be proud of whatever race you are, but the most important is that we all are part of the HUMAN RACE!!

A lot of white people think all black men are the same in leaving pregnant women to raise children alone,..and we know that is not true.... You can't judge a whole race by what some in that race do or say... You just can't...

Angie Williams you are right not to judge negatively becuase of some bad ones, but to think that my race treated people of a different race such as blacks and Native Americans, make me ashamed. One just need to read about what's happening today in the news about the Police as well.
