Having just recently rewatched your commentary on Bride Wars, I think there's something of a parallel between Linda telling Robbie she doesn't love him anymore on their wedding day and Anne Hathaway's character telling Chris Pratt's that they aren't right for each other on their wedding day. Both have the woman realising that she doesn't want to marry that man - one because he has changed and the other because she has. Important difference though is that Anne Hathaway's character doesn't want to hurt him and breaks the news gently even as she is just realising it herself, she still manages to word it in a way that makes clear it is nobody's fault whereas Linda doesn't choose her words very carefully. Really love the commentaries, I'd be interested to see what you think of another Adam Sandler film - Just Go With It! I watched it years ago, mostly because I was obsessed with Friends and would watch anything starring Jennifer Anniston and I just remember it as the most chaotic movie so would love to see you guys react to all the shenanigans ❤

The 90s interpretation of the 80s is like the 80s interpretation of the 50s…in the 90s, like Saved By the Bell. Not entirely accurate, but it gives the film a style that makes it stand out. The Wonder Years did the same thing. Kevin always looked 80s and there were other 80s elements and then his sister would look very hippie-ish.

As much as I love Drew Barrymore, I have to admit to an equal antipathy for Adam Sandler. His movies are consistently cruel to overweight people and really anyone who's 'different.'
