As a diehard Weeknd fan, I’ve come to realize that we’ll never get that 2011 Weeknd where he was broke, depressed, and was just a different person. He’s in his 30s now, is one of the biggest artists in the world, and has grown. And I appreciate his growth. I love this album for the most part. I definitely respect and understand why y’all don’t feel this as much as his previous work tho. Great video, love y’all’s work!

The Weeknd uses beats and vibes that his newer fans love (Starboy wave fans) but there’s a deeper message in these songs so he put one thing a part of his fan base loves and is the sad gloomy boy we all know and love on these beats as well....you really got to listen to this shut because the story he’s telling is so amazing throughout the album as well to the point you could almost see it....this production makes it also easy to block out the words but you really have to pay attention to what he saying I hope they let the whole album play again so they could know what I’m talking about....but great fucking album again from Abel that nigga don’t miss

The weeknd ain't the initiation weeknd, hes evolving. Hes older and I honestly loved everything on this. It would seem fake for him to be still on those manipulative toxic vibes from trilogy even tho it was his best sounds
@AJXO-304 жыл бұрын
@@carloshernandez3177 (i know im commenting alot 😂)but agreed, that's why I totally understand this album. It's a combination of pop, hip hop (in a sense), trap and (his best) dark RnB. I argue that there is some toxicity in his songs. Like "I want you to OD right beside me", "Repeat after me, you don't love him", "In Vegas I feel so at home so I throw 2,000 ones in the sky, oh, oh, oh how much does it cost to light up my star again", "It's way too late to save our souls babe", "I've been sober for a year now it's time for ,e to go back to my old ways, don't you cry for me", " all my demons try to pull me to my grave, I choose Vegas if they offer heaven's gate". These lyrics are definitely old weeknd. There's more old weeknd on this album than on Starboy. The beats are just laced with a pop sound. There's chopped up parts in the songs that have a dark old weeknd sound. Listen closely. And the theme of the album is hard to figure out but when you do, it makes the album pure diamond.

Eren there’s gonna be lighter beats for the story he’s gonna tell. Like I said they are transitional tracks , Hardest to love is him realizing it’s too late for him to find the one cause of all these things he does and then you get the climax of the album (Snowchild,Escape from LA, Heartless, Faith, Blidning lights) which is him relapsing to how he used to live in his early 20s. While save your tears is simply just supposed to setup the outro of him realizing he relapsed and how he is even further behind from where he started at the beginning of the album .( after hours, until I bleed out)
